The new X of Swords arc draws to a heated conclusion as the final part dropped on Nov. 25th. With that release comes a slew of amazing variants to cover and look closer at. The amount of variant covers recently has been insane and this issue is no different. In this guide, we'll take a look at which covers are trending where and give a nice spotlight to the wonderful covers that are out.

I won't spend much time going over the story or really anything except the cover art as to not spoil too much. That being said, let's dive right into our Variant Guide for X of Swords: Destruction #1!

Yu Variant

First up on the list is the Yu variant. Even though this cover is only slightly different than the original, I think it's worth noting here as the cover itself is very cool and ominous looking. We have a very cool angle, giving us a nice wide shot view of our mountain of heroes coming up to meet their foe. While it looks like too much is going on with this cover, I actually feel there is more to look at every time you glance at it. Which is always great for covers.

This cover is trending at the normal cover price still. Even if it never really goes beyond that, this cover is really a nice artist highlight, especially given how many characters they ended up putting on here.

Momoko Variant

Here we are again, this arc has received some great Momoko covers, and this one is no exception. We have a beautiful profile cover of High Summoner, drawn in the emotionally stirring style we all know and love. It's very interesting to see takes on characters like this from an artist that specializes in horror. Very excited to see what other covers can be shifted and shaped into these eerie portraits.

With Momoko being a full-time Marvel artist now, I'm glad the style that was being put forth is going to continue. Also still at cover price, this is a long box snag for any fan of Momos. Not to mention it is just a hauntingly cool cover to look at.

Stegman Variant

What a cover, Stegman! Ryan Stegman has been rolling out some great covers recently. And you can add this one to the list.  This cover depicts the scene as Scott and Jean lead the charge into battle, which is a very iconic and huge moment in this arc. This cover really gets more interesting the more you look at it, and overall very well done.

Not just the playing chaos in the background, but you can truly see the emotion of the scene written on their faces. This variant is definitely well done and had a lot of thought put into it. As the 1:50 variant cover for Destruction, this is trending around $25 to $40. Demand has died down a tad bit from preorder sales. But that is a great time to get in if you missed out the first time!

Suayan Variant

Last on the list, but certainly, that doesn't mean that the Suayan Variant isn't just as cool as the rest of the list. This striking cover is the other favorite that collectors are fawning over. Making Gambit the focal point of the cover while still being able to add so much more to the background is an amazing feat. Which is probably why this cover got the Virgin and Black & White incentive covers!

At the moment, you can find the original cover for around $15 - $25. While the Virgin cover is sitting at almost double that. Lastly, you can find the B&W version for about $30 as well as combo packs for anyone wanting the set, which is running at about $60 at online shops.

Final Remarks:

This arc was extremely fun to read. And I'm glad the last part got just as cool of a cover line as the beginning. Still too soon to tell which will end up being the fan-favorite. However, it seems the 1:50 is the frontrunner at the moment. Even with the very cool variations to the Suayan variant. But only time will say with that one. Hope you've enjoyed the arc and the wonderful cover art that came with it. I know I did!
