Harvey AwardsMedia Release -- On Saturday, September 8, the winners of the 25th annual Harvey Awards were announced at the Baltimore Comic Con. Perhaps this year's standout was Marvel Comics' Daredevil series, taking the Best New Series and Best Continuing or Limited Series awards, with Mark Waid earning the Best Writer and Joe Rivera the Best Inker awards respectively for their work on the title.

Web cartoonist Kate Beaton also nabbed an impressive number of awards for her Hark! A Vagrant, taking the Best Cartoonist, Best Online Comics Work, and the Special Award for Humor in Comics.

J.H. Williams was recognized for his work on DC Comics' Batwoman, taking the Best Artist and Best Cover Artist awards. Archaia Entertainment's graphic novel presentation of Jim Henson's unproduced screenplay Tale of Sand earned Best Single Issue or Story and Best Original Graphic Novel, while Dark Horse Comics' Dark Horse Presents was named Best Anthology. IDW Publishing's Walt Simonson's The Mighty Thor Artist's Edition was recognized with the Best Domestic Reprint Project and Special Award for Excellence in Presentation honors.
