Marvel Studios are currently in the midst of an insane Multiverse storyline, the likes of which could only be rivaled by the imagination of children with their Marvel toys! Last December, audiences devoured the MCU debut of previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire (2002-2007) and Andrew Garfield (2012-2014). In May of this year, audiences should be expecting a few more cameos from throughout the Multiverse with the upcoming blockbuster, Doctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness. Today, we are looking at a rumor that argues the potential appearance of the Fantastic Four in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel.

Fantastic Four in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...

On December 10, 2020, Kevin Feige announced that Spider-Man director Jon Watts will direct an upcoming Fantastic Four reboot for the studio. With the Marvel Spider-Man trilogy, Watts has showcased his wonderful focus on heart, comedy and comic book shenanigans, which makes him a fantastic choice for Marvel's first family.

With Fantastic Four in-active development for the studio (rumors suggest the movie will drop sometime in 2024), it really should not come as a surprise that Marvel are looking to introduce members of the Fantastic Four already. For the longest time, Fantastic Four has been a case of missed opportunity. On paper, the characters should be as big, if not bigger than the likes of the X-Men or Avengers.

Will the Fantastic Four Appear in Doctor Strange 2? krasinski_reed

According to DanielRPK - who has quite the scooping repertoire, mind you -  Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards) will make his MCU debut in the forthcoming Doctor Strange movie.

While this is exciting, especially for a longtime Fantastic Four fan like myself, the scooper refused to acknowledge which version will appear, as both Ioan Gruffudd and John Krasinski have been rumored to play the role.

Gruffudd_ReedDoctor Strange In the Multiverse of Madness has been rumored to feature the return of many iconic 20th Century Fox/Marvel characters such as Sir. Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, so the potential return of Gruffudd as Mr. Fantastic doesn’t seem like too much of a stretch, does it?

Simultaneously, A Quiet Place’s Krasinski has been an incredibly popular fan-casting for the role, and his appearance in the movie, even if it is just a cameo, could be something truly special.

Of course, we may not know the truth until May 6th, which is when Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide. But all of that said, what do you guys think?

Could you see either version of Mr. Fantastic popping up in the movie?
