In 2021, four years after the theatrical release of the original film, Zack Snyder’s Justice League will hit HBO Max. While the exact release date has not been specified, fans are losing their minds. Snyder’s two DC films have been some of the most-discussed and talked about comic book films of all-time. His new Justice League movie will certainly be no different. While we know Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Cyborg and Martian Manhunter will appear in the film, I thought it would be fun to look at who else might appear in The Snyder Cut of Justice League?

As I previously mentioned, we know that the mainstays will appear here. So, there should really be no surprise when Darkseid pops up, as Snyder has already confirmed such a development. This list will include characters who have been rumored or even teased by Snyder on his social channels. As such, let us begin with number one!

First Appearance: Forever People #2

Every villain needs his right-hand man, and for Darkseid that man is DeSaad. The character is a cowardly, treacherous individual, terrified of his master, and the power he possesses. DeSaad has appeared in countless animated projects from DC over the years, including Justice League, Young Justice, and Justice League Action. DeSaad actually appeared in Snyder’s original Justice League, with character actor Peter Guinness portraying him.

The Atom (Ryan Choi)

First Appearance: DCU: Brave New World #1

When most people think of the Atom, they would think of Ray Palmer, who has become a household name thanks to The CW. However, in Snyder’s version of the Justice League, the filmmaker wanted to bring a more recent DC hero into the mix. Ryan Choi, who first appeared in DCU: Brave New World #1, has appeared in Batman: The Brave & The Bold as well as Legends of Tomorrow, alongside Palmer. On Snyder’s Vero account, the director revealed that Zheng Kai was meant to portray the role originally, and considering the 2021 version will be his vision, it is safe to assume Choi will make his cinematic debut.

The New Gods

First Appearance: The New Gods #1

I feel genuinely crazy constantly hyping up Jack Kirby’s New Gods, I really do. Every time I write about them, the movie slows down. But, hear me out: You can’t have Darkseid, DeSaad, Steppenwolf, and the Parademons without the slight possibility of the New Gods appearing… right? While I doubt all of the New Gods will appear, I would be shocked if someone like the Highfather, Orion, or Metron (all of which debuted in New Gods #1) failed to mark their live-action debut in the Snyder Cut. With the upcoming New Gods film from Ava DuVernay, perhaps Snyder could collaborate with the filmmaker to determine a consistent cast?

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan)

First Appearance: Showcase #22

I think we can all forget about the last time we saw Hal Jordan on the big screen. 2011’s Green Lantern was many things; success was not one of them. In the theatrical version of the Justice League, we saw a random Green Lantern appear in the ‘History Lesson’ but according to Snyder, there was another Green Lantern set to appear in the film to some capacity. While it has not been confirmed that it was indeed Hal Jordan, who else would it really be?

I am really excited that another Justice League Movie is being made. I hope they got Henry Cahill back as Super Man. I do have a Question on a Justice League comic in our price guide. Is this for real? DC Comics Presents: Justice League of America #1 has it listed for 9.8 1,000. You can find that comic nm for 3.00 on Ebay. What is the Deal? 2 9.8 sales for 20 and 30 dollars last year. And 1 sale this May, a 4.0 sold for 207.50..It is listed as high value. Is it for real? I bought two just in case. LOL! Thanks!
