People say, “The third time is a charm.” If that is true, then the third appearance of Moon Knight could be a veritable lucky charm. Especially if sellers do not know what they have in their back issue bins. I'm talking, of course, about Werewolf By Night #37. My fellow Moonies, this is the third appearance of Moon Knight. Not as well known as the other keys, it is definitely a minor key. One might even consider this key invisible, as it is rarely noticed. What return has this invisible key garnered?

This episode might have been called the "Kitchen Sink" as opposed to "Asylum." After all, the creators literally threw everything into the episode. It was a chaotic tabula mix from Tarawet the Egyptian goddess, to the origin story, the Land of the Dead, mortal judgment, the cause of the multiple personality disorder, and becoming Moon Knight after dying at the feet of Khonshu, and I could go on.

Like I said, this episode is the "Kitchen Sink" of the Moon Knight TV series. You never know which way the story will unfold and this has been the fun part of this Moon-Saga. The leading man, Oscar Isaac is such a great actor that you can see on his face and in his mannerisms that his personality changes.

Minor Spoiler Alert:

Look for the third personality displayed on Oscar's face, can you figure out who it is?

The title of Moon Knight Episode: 5 is “Asylum.” In this episode,  Marc Spector (and his alter-ego, Steven Grant) bounces between the asylum and the Egyptian underworld. We're coming to the end of our saga; only one episode left. Since this was such an oddball episode; I decided to track an oddball key that most people are not aware of. What is this invisible key in the Moon Knight comics?

Werewolf by Night #37

This third appearance of Moon Knight has a beautiful cover, featuring Moon Knight in a resplendent action pose. However, the appearance is actually only in a dream format. Regardless, it is his third appearance in Marvel Comics. This character was not meant to be a superhero. He was intended to be a minor nemesis of Jack Russell (Werewolf by Night).

Comic Grade Price Current Return 1-Year
Werewolf by Night #37 9.8 $1,499 +66%
8.5 $192 +47%

Conclusion

Moon Knight is coming to TV: Meet the characters most likely to join him

In retrospect, the episode was fun and zany and exactly what was needed. after talking to friends and family we've all come to the same conclusion about Moon Knight it's a three-letter word. The Moon Knight Saga is simply F-U-N.

At its heart of it, you never know what's going to come next. He jumps from scene to scene but the writing and directing can keep fans following the story from getting lost in the confusion. Each scene draws you in and you can't help but be fascinated by all the little tidbits left for Marvel fans and non-fans alike. The great thing about the episode is it gave them motivation for the character of Marc Spector and his dissociative disorder.

Werewolf by Night #37 is a solid bet if you can get it cheap.  However, speculators won't make a lot of money this late in the game. But it's a solid minor key worthy of ownership, nonetheless. This is a nice background key to own because I think we will see a lot of Moon Knight in the MCU going forward. Even speculation can sometimes just be pure fun, a lot like Moon Knight Episode 5.
