The latest trailer for The Eternals has fans buzzing about the godlike aliens, the Celestials, and that should have you looking for their key issues. Without further ado, let's look at some Celestials keys!

The godlike creators of the Eternals and their enemies, the Deviants, the Celestials have been teased since Tivan the Collector explained their connection to the Infinity Stones in 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy

Finally, after years of waiting, The Eternals will treat viewers to the full spectrum of the intergalactic giants. Here’s what you need to know.

WHO ARE THE CELESTIALS?

Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, the Celestials are said to be the oldest creatures in the Marvel Universe. In fact, they are the first lifeforms to exist in the universe. All other life came from them in one fashion or another. Their true origin remains a mystery, but they continue to influence the Multiverse well into the modern age.

In the comics, there are several Celestials in existence. So far, six have been revealed in the MCU (who look suspiciously like Thor’s Destroyer): Arishem, Eson, Hargen, Jemiah, Nezarr, and an unnamed one whose severed head appears in the GOTG films as Knowhere. There also is Ego, who is not a Celestial in the comics.

Now the latest Eternals trailer indicates the Celestials will get the spotlight for the first time since being introduced in the MCU.

THE KEYS

With the Celestials being tied to so much Marvel Universe history, Kevin Feige and his cohorts won’t throw them away in one movie. They are here to stay, and audiences will see them again and again for years to come. That makes their keys sound investments going forward.

On that note, here are three you should be watching.

ETERNALS #2

Although the Celestial Infinity appeared years earlier, the first of the traditional Celestials made his debut here. Arishem the Judge, whom many believe is seen in the trailer, would make his premiere in Eternals #2. Not that this key needed more incentive to be expensive.

If you are a stickler for those 9.8s, you can expect to pay over $1k after the most recent sale brought $1,365 on August 8. A better option is the 9.4, which hasn’t sold for more than $250 since July 3.

ETERNALS #7

This issue, in particular, is notable as the first full appearance of Jemiah the Analyzer as well as the cameo firsts of Eson the Searcher, Nezarr the Calculator, and Tefral the Surveyor. The comic is the first time the One Above All is mentioned. He is another godlike character who is the antithesis to Immortal Hulk’s One Below All.

Eternals #7 is much easier on your budget than its predecessors. Although a 9.8 sold for nearly $800 in April, the last sale from August 3 was more reasonably priced at $349.

ETERNALS #18

More Celestials kept pouring into the Marvel Universe during the Bronze Age. By Eternals #18, readers were introduced to Ziran the Tester and Tiamut the Communicator. Between the two, the most likely to be seen in Eternals is Tiamut. Also known as the Dreaming Celestial, he is worshiped by the Deviants, and odds are that will be a plot point in The Eternals.

With the chances of Tiamut being featured in the movie, it is worth taking a gamble for Eternals #18. The highest grade sold in August was the 9.2, and despite the high grade, that comic sold for just $62.

CELESTIAL COLLECTING

It is likely that the Celestials will extend outside the confines of The Eternals. Throughout their comic mythology, they have encountered most of the cosmic characters in the Marvel Universe, most notably Thor. It is only a matter of time before the God of Thunder runs across one or more Celestial in the MCU. Their importance in the overarching MCU will only keep their keys on the move.
