PRESS RELEASE
August 2nd, 2007

Los Angeles - Mark Waid has found his voice again.

On July 26, 2007, during the San Diego Comic-Con, the YouTube video announcing Waid's new position as Editor-In-Chief of BOOM! Studios was mistakenly released to the world with substandard audio. For seven long days and nights, fans marveled at the sight of Waid's jubilant, round head--but remained mystified as to exactly what he was saying.

Now, after much political maneuvering over rights issues, foreign distribution, and sound-effects clearances, a newly remastered, restored and uncut version has hit the front page of BOOM! Studios' website. (http://www.boom-studios.com)

"It sounded great on my headphones," newly appointed Marketing and Sales Director Chip Mosher said of the original upload.

"Who the hell masters audio from the middle of the San Diego Comic-Con exhibition hall?" Waid countered in a voice undeniably strong and clear.

Theatrical release of the remastered 160-second video is currently being negotiated, and Waid himself has floated the possibility of a limited-edition deluxe two-disc set to include original storyboards, animatics, director's commentary, and extensive behind-the-scenes footage. Members of Waid's immediate family have expressed great enthusiasm to this possible offering.

Fans and friends are directed to http://www.boom-studios.com so they can experience for themselves, free of charge, the Waid announcement in all its restored, remastered glory.
