Sure, there was plenty of Mario in this week's Video Game Auctions, but other characters made prominent appearances as well. Here are all the details from the latest results from Heritage as well as coverage of the HUGE video game auctions at Goldin Auctions and CertifiedLink.

Upcoming Graded Video Game Auctions

CertifiedLink's Latest Video Game Auction

CertifiedLink has dozens of graded video games hitting the auction block in just a couple days, with plenty of appearances from iconic gaming characters as well as some more obscure items.

Worth a watch:

BIOSHOCK - XBOX 360 - WATA 9.8 A++ (Sealed). "BioShock has received "universal acclaim", according to review aggregator Metacritic, with the game receiving an average review score of 96/100 for Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows, and 94/100 for PlayStation 3." (From the game's Wiki.)

As of October of last year, it is one of the highest-rated games on Metacritic, tied with several other games for the fourth-highest aggregate score.

An identically-graded copy of this game sold just a week ago through Heritage for $6,000. This was a huge leap from the last time this game sold, which was just in April for $3,720.

DOUBLE DRAGON - GAME BOY ADVANCE WATA 9.6 A++ (Sealed). This is a remake of the 1987 Taito arcade game for Nintendo Game Boy Advance with cover art by Seiji Uda.

This game, in a slightly higher grade, sold for $1,200 in November of last year.

MEDIEVIL 2 - PS1 WATA 9.8 A (Sealed). After the success of the first game in this series, Sony Computer Entertainment ordered a sequel to MediEvil before the end of the PlayStation's lifespan. The original concepts for MediEvil 2 went through many transformations before the Cambridge team eventually decided to make a sequel set during the Victorian Gothic revival, similar to its predecessor.

The game received mostly positive reviews from critics upon release, with praise including slight improvements over its predecessor, such as artificial intelligence and graphical enhancements, but was criticized for lack of innovation from the original.

A copy of this game (9.8 A) sold for $1,020 in April of this year.

All games in this auction have a starting bid of $1 with no reserve. This auction opens for bids on 9/16 at 8pm. Check out all the entries, including a selection of action figures, HERE.

Super Mario Land - Wata 8.5 A+ Sealed [Yellow Screenshots, Large Warranty, Later Production], GB Nintendo 1989 USA. - "This is the first Mario game on a handheld system, and it marks the first appearance of Princess Daisy. Super Mario Land ditches the familiar Mushroom Kingdom setting for the unusual Sarasaland.

This game is currently resting on a high bid of $2,000.

GoldenEye 007 - Wata 9.0 A+ Sealed, N64 Nintendo 1997 USA. Featuring Pierce Brosnan prominently on the cover as James Bond, this game is from one of the original production runs of the game.  As such, it is a lot harder to find than the subsequent Player's Choice version.
