Have you seen the prices for every print of Venom #3? Values have exploded in recent weeks, and there are no signs of it slowing down.

Explode may not be the right word. Fireworks explode. This is more like a mushroom cloud.

A little over a month ago, there was a tease in Venom #25 that Knull would be taking on the Avengers. That sent collectors scurrying for all things Knull. Now that Marvel has made the official announcement that Knull will be starring in the crossover event, "The King in Black," things have gotten out of hand. See for yourself.

Venom 3FIRST PRINT (STANDARD COVER)

In just a matter of days, this has become a $400 comic.

With all the variants and subsequent printings for the God of the Symbiotes' first appearance, it is easy for the standard cover to get lost in the shuffle. However, that has not been the case. At 9.8, this issue is holding its own. After earning a $96 fair market value last year, it has taken off.

For the past 90 days, it has averaged $204, but that number is about to be cast aside. Over the past six sales, it has sold for over $400 four times and reached as high as $425. What's more, is that the two sales under that mark were for still close behind at $375 and $380.

Venom 3FIRST PRINT (VARIANT)

The only issue that rivals the third print's values would be the Jorge Molina 1:25 ratio variant. After earning a $178 average in 2019, it has amassed an astounding $356 FMV over the past three months. From late-June to early-July, it hovered in the $400-$500 range, but the past two sales have been for $640 and $650.

Venom 3SECOND PRINT

The Primordial Venom variant came in both a trade dress and a virgin variant.

The trade dress, at a 9.8, has averaged $107 in the past 90 days, and it recently sold for a record-high $130 on both June 26 and July 1. Since then, it has kept that pace, selling between $119-$128.

Things have been quiet for the virgin variant. I don't think that will last much longer considering the demand for Venom #3 in any edition. At the moment, the last sale of a graded 9.8 virgin second print was last August, and it sold for $115.

Venom 3THIRD PRINT

Out of all the Venom #3s, this is by far the hottest edition to own.

The last time I covered the Knull boom, I was impressed with it selling for $200-$350. In only a month, the Venom #3 third print has rocketed past those figures into uncharted territory after setting a new $800 record high. And to think that a year ago, this was a $91 comic.

Since July 10, the 9.8 third print has not sold for under $620 in 11 recorded sales. More impressive is that there is no indication this train is slowing down. It has sold for $800 three times this month, and the last four sales have been between $700-$775. At this pace, it would not surprise me if it reached the $1k mark.

What makes this issue special is that it is Knull's first cover appearance. Despite it being a third print, collectors still recognize the cover art as a first, and that is what makes this the biggest of the Knull keys.

Venom 3FOURTH PRINT

There hasn't been much activity for the fourth print in the past month. Even though the last sale was on June 7, its eye-opening $132 price tag shows how hot Knull's first appearance has become. It hasn't sold for less than $70 since April.

MORE TO COME FOR VENOM

Knull has become such a hot character that all of his key appearances are feeling the effects. If you were missing the cameo in Thor: God of Thunder or wanted some information on his Silver Surfer: Black appearance, I have more coming. Stay tuned.
