Who would have thought a magazine series could be this important? Well, you better start looking in those magazine piles at your local comic book shop. It is even possible that it could be in some dollar bins as well. I am referring to the comic series titled, Vampire Tales. Vampire Tales is an American horror series that details vampire characters as protagonists and antagonists. The series featured characters such as Morbius the Living Vampire, Satanna, Lillith, and a guy named Blade. There are many key issues involving these characters that Marvel has confirmed or speculating to use in the next phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Vampire Tales #1:

Vampire Tales #1 is the first issue of the series that details important information for collectors. This issue includes the first solo story featuring Morbius the Living Vampire. If you are not aware, Sony is planning on releasing a Morbius solo movie featuring Jared Leto on March 19, 2021. In fact, there has been at least one movie trailer made public for people to view. This issue could feature a plot point in the upcoming movie. It is a much cheaper alternative to invest in than the first appearance if you plan to go this route.

Vampire Tales #2:

Vampire Tales #2 is another key issue in this series. This issue features the first appearance of Satana, the sister of Damon Hellstrom. These two characters are featured in the upcoming live-action Helstrom television series this fall on Hulu. The first trailer was just released in last month's San Diego Comic-Con Virtual Convention. It appears Marvel has big plans for these characters. It falls in line with what they have done in the past in making announcements at San Diego. Additionally, Marvel is entering a supernatural phase where these key characters could be playing a prominent role going forward.

Vampire Tales #5:

Vampire Tales # 5 is another under-valued key issue in the series. This issue details the origin of Morbius the Living Vampire. As I confirmed earlier, Sony plans on releasing a solo movie with the character next year. The movie plot could grab direct material from this issue in detailing Morbius' origin. It is a very affordable copay to grab and an overlooked issue as it is not the first appearance.

Vampire Tales #8:

I personally have four copies of this issue as I am a massive fan of Blade and believe Marvel has big plans for him going forward. Vampire Tales #8 details the first solo story of Blade the Vampire Slayer. Marvel has already confirmed a solo movie for this character in either phase 4 or 5. This issue could be valuable in the movie using the material to create the plotline. In addition, the issue is a cheap alternative, since his first appearance is very costly. Lastly, many of Blade's key issues are in the Tomb of Dracula series, so many people will overlook this issue entirely.

To sum up, Vampire Tales has shown to be a series with many key issues and an interesting read as well. My belief is that Marvel has really big plans for the characters mentioned above. The future seems to be shifting to a more supernatural horror phase with Blade, Ghost Rider, and even already established Doctor Strange leading the way. This series offers many key elements and characters that could provide key gains in the coming years once we know more about phase 5. Either way now is the time to acquire these issues while the buzz is still low.
