Reviews from The Blog From Another World

I’ve got to admit, I’m a sucker for unconventional superhero comics, which is why I loved the initial run of The Umbrella Academy, by Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba–despite the hype (’cause I can be contrary like that). The vivid artwork, unusual characters, and time-shifting plot caught my attention, and I’ve been eagerly awaiting The Umbrella Academy: Dallas #1 ever since. Fortunately, since I work for TFAW.com, I was able to get my hands on an advance copy so I can tell you what you’re in for!

Apocalypse Suite. Hundreds are dead, a city is devastated, and The Umbrella Academy is in limbo: Spaceboy has lost his motivation, The Rumor has lost her voice, The White Violin has lost her memory, The Kraken has lost all patience, and The Boy has seemingly lost his mind (The Seance, however, has not lost his sense of style). I can’t tell you any more without spoiling the plot, but I will say it’s an intriguing beginning and I can’t wait to read what happens next.

The best part? The Umbrella Academy: Dallas #1 is 32 pages with no ads! That’s like getting 33% percent more story, and I can always get behind that. You can pre-order The Umbrella Academy: Dallas #1 today, or wait until it comes out tomorrow.

So who’s your favorite character? Should Vanya be forgiven for her part in the disaster in Apocalypse Suite? Post your comments below!
