"Once you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." -Spock. Predator vs. the Avengers?  Alien vs. Venom? A Marvel Predator tweet sent me out of my Vulcan mind!

A Predator Marvel Release is Closer than We Think!

@previewsworld posted this tweet, "Just as the Predators make their Marvel debut, fans can experience their original comics legacy in Predator: the Original Years Omnibus Vol. 1" with this great Marvel preview cover.  I've been dreaming of a Predator and Alien 2021 winter since the announcement they were coming over to Marvel.  But before we get lost in the pages of an Alien vs. Guardians of the Galaxy, or X-men vs. Predator, what about taking a look back at a few of these franchise comic releases from the past?

Batman Vs. Predator: Dawn of the Superhero Battles Ahead?

DC and Dark Horse gave us a three comic mini-series, Batman vs. Predator in 1991.  The three comic run features some fabulous early published work by Adam and Andy Kubert and it is a nice glimpse into the kind of creative development Predator can become for Marvel.  DC and Dark Horse later collaborated to bring a second helping of Batman vs. Predator with Batman vs. Predator II: Bloodmatch.  Both series are worth your investment in time and money.  The first series has some great early works of artists whose work has gained serious investment potential in both graded and ungraded sales and it is the first major hero vs. Predator to be published.  This series could see significant interest and increase in value as Marvel begins to release Predator comics. GoCollect lists this series in the $50-75 range.  The series is fluctuating between holding steady and increasing in value by 33% depending on the issue number.  For $50-75, I like the entire comic run's prospects.

Who will be the first Superhero to Take on Aliens?

Who do you want Aliens to take on first in the Marvel Universe? Venom seems too obvious.  I'd like to see them dust off a hero from the past that hasn't been around much lately, Knull or Red Wolf vs. Aliens?  Hmmm.  It's harder for me to envision Aliens vs...  Collectors seem to like Aliens more than Predator.  The first Dark Horse series has seen sales of issues 1-5 hit as high as $250.  Issue #5 in the series is seeing the most love in sales value.   GoCollect lists nearly 200 sales for issues 1-5.  This is another comic series that I believe has not peaked in value.  Marvel's treatment of Aliens can have a BIG impact on the first Dark Horse series.  Between the first 5 issues in this series, and the three-issue series of the Batman Vs. Predator storyline, there is more than enough evidence to suggest these comics will rise in value and generate tremendous interest in the hobby.  MANY fans cannot wait to see what Marvel does with these characters.  Furthermore, the art and storylines are appealing and with continued and sustained presence in the Marvel Universe will keep investors digging into past releases. That must be the truth!
