She-HulkShe-Hulk has given a boost to all things gamma-radiated, and those Hulk keys littered the top 100. Meanwhile, a bit of 1970s nostalgia begged the question, who’s buying this stuff?!

The She-Hulk hype is officially kicking off, and that is driving the market toward the Hulk. But I’m not referring to just the classic Bruce Banner version. Collectors are aiming their sites at those other gamma-powered goliaths in the hope that one or more of them will appear in the Disney+ series. Who knows? With all the talk about Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers, we could even see them appear in a movie or two.

22. THE INCREDIBLE HULK #102 (+948)

Aside from Hulk #1, this is one of the more collectible Silver Age Hulk keys. Back in the 1960s, the Green Goliath had a tough time staying in print, but that was the case for a few of the early Marvel titles.

Like the X-Men, Hulk persevered, and after sitting on the shelf for a time, his title was restarted with Hulk #102. In many ways, this is the Hulk’s Giant-Size X-Men #1, and it gave birth to the Hulk that fans would grow to love all the way into the Modern Age.

33. HULK #1 2008 (+19)

There may not be any juicy gossip on the Red Hulk at the moment, but fans have been theorizing ways for Thunderbolt Ross to become a Hulk for years now. Considering the obvious connection between Ross and the Thunderbolts, it is easy to speculate that he could transform into the Red Hulk for a Thunderbolts live-action series.

With She-Hulk on the horizon, who’s to say we won’t see it happen before then? That is exactly why the Red Hulk’s debut in Hulk #1 remains a hot comic despite the lack of information.

34. TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #22 (+389)

This would be the perfect spot for the Obi-Wan meme. “Weapon H. There’s a name I haven’t heard in a long, long time.” Maybe it wasn’t that long ago, but the shine wore off Weapon H/Hulkverine fairly quickly. Four years ago, collectors were all over Weapon H’s early appearances. Then, suddenly no one seemed to care anymore.

Now that first appearance of the Hulk-Wolverine hybrid in Totally Awesome Hulk  #22 has returned to the Hottest Comics’ top 50 with a vengeance, but will it hang around for long?

She-Hulk82. THE SAVAGE SHE-HULK #1 (+195)

As popular as She-Hulk’s first appearance has been for the past year, it is hard to believe that it slipped outside the top-200 comics even if it was only for a week. With all the news surrounding her Disney+ series, it is no wonder that She-Hulk #1 is regaining its momentum.

Once we get our first look at the newest CGI sensation, I suspect this issue will make its way back into the top 10.

ODDBALL OF THE WEEK AWARD

975. WELCOME BACK, KOTTER #6

Each week I ask the question, who’s buying this stuff? When I saw three issues of Welcome Back, Kotter on the Hottest Comics...seriously, who’s buying this?

Welcome Back, Kotter #6 alone would have been enough to warrant an Oddball of the Week, but three? That’s a hands-down winner. Why someone would seek out these 1970s relics, I have no idea, but at least it gives me a chance to get the Welcome Back, Kotter theme song stuck in your head.

Welcome back.
