No Way Home continues to influence buyers like nothing else, and Not Brand Echh #1 begged the question, “Who’s buying this stuff?!”

The Hottest Comics are all about the most influential and trending issues on the market. Movie news continues to drive comics to the mountain’s peak, but then there are those weird titles that give you a double-take. On that note, let’s take a deeper dive into the 1,001 bestsellers.

27. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL #14 (+972)

Despite Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premiering this week, the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer is the talk of the comic community. It has set fire to virtually anything connected to the highly anticipated movie, specifically those keys connected to either the Sinister Six or, in the case of ASM Annual #14, a Spider-Man/Doctor Strange team up.

This issue was not the two’s first meeting. Still, it does feature the odd pairing as well as Doctor Doom and Dormammu.

31. ALPHA FLIGHT #1 (+969)

Nathan Fillion helped the Alpha Flight cause. Earlier in this week, the actor, who is often rumored to play Wonder Man in the MCU, threw his name in the hat for an Alpha Flight movie.

Since Fox was purchased by Disney, fans have petitioned the corporation to bring the Canadian superteam to life. During a Twitter watch party of The Suicide Squad, Fillion remarked that he would like to portray Alpha Flight’s Sasquatch/Walter Langkowski in the MCU. That has put collectors on alert for those AF keys, which were already hot due to the rumors.

93. THE FLASH #123 (+906)

To be a key issue, it’s not a requirement to have the first appearance of a new character. In this case, Flash #123 marked the first time the Multiverse was suggested in a comic. No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness, The Flash, the Arrowverse, Loki, What If…? and plenty more movies and series to come for both the MCU and the DCEU are tapping into the alternate realities concepts.

Older movie franchises and television shows are being fused with their modern counterparts. This is making the Multiverse a household name outside the comic faithful. The more we hear about the Multiverse, the more important this issue becomes. That explains why it jumped over 900 spots this week.

5. IRON FIST #14 (+803)

The bane of Wolverine’s existence, Sabretooth made a giant leap in the rankings this week, proving the feral mutant is still a powerhouse among collectors. There have been ample Logan rumors circulating the gossip sites this year. That always trickles over to his nemesis, Victor Creed.

The two characters will forever be linked together; It is hard to imagine one being brought to the silver screen without the other. That could be why this issue suddenly sprouted new legs and ran to the front of the line in the past week.

ODDBALL OF THE WEEK

631. NOT BRAND ECHH #1 (-91)

The debut of Forbush Man keeps hanging out in the Hottest Comics rankings. These satirical comics from Marvel and DC remain popular with hardcore collectors, and the oddness of the issues is enough to keep buyers on the hunt for them.

The Oddball of the Week Award was made for titles just like this, so it is fitting that Not Brand Echh’s first issue gets the prize this week.
