When was the last time you thought about Garrison Kane? Exactly, yet his first appearance in X-Force #2 is trending this week.

It’s time again to dig deeper into the Hottest Comics and see what surprises buyers had in store this week. Based on eBay sales for the past 30 days, the index ranks the top-100 comics by sales volume. As you comb through those hundred issues, it’s the new faces that tend to stand out, like these five.

20. UNCANNY X-MEN #282 (+4)

A fan-favorite X-Man is stealthily climbing the Hottest Comics ladder.

This is the first appearance of Bishop, which also happens to be his first cover appearance, and that is becoming more important than the in-story debut.

Many X-fans are certain that we will see the time-displaced mutant when the X-Men invade the MCU. That could be why this issue is sneaking its way toward the top.

33. X-FORCE #2 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Of all the new additions to this week’s Hottest Comics, this one caught me by surprise more than anything else. Practically every kid of the 1990s owns a copy of this comic.

At the time, the former New Mutants had one of the hottest new series on the shelves, and it catapulted Rob Liefeld to superstardom. This issue featured two key appearances.

The biggest selling point is the second appearance of Deadpool, but he wasn’t telling jokes quite yet. There also was the debut of the newest Weapon X, Garrison Kane. Why this comic has suddenly felt the love of buyers everywhere is beyond me, but I love seeing it on the rise.

57. MARVEL POINT ONE #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

For years, the Point One #1 everyone wanted was All-New Marvel NOW! Point One #1.

The 2014 version featured the debut of Kamala Khan, and buyers were high on her thanks to the new show.

The news that Nova will be starring in his first movie is giving the 2012 version a bump.

This issue featured the debut of Sam Alexander, the modern Nova.

There is speculation that Sam could be the MCU’s Nova, and that is what has collectors watching this one.

67. TRANSFORMERS #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Here is a franchise that will never die.

Born in the 1980s and created for the sole purpose of selling toys, the Transformers are reinvented for every generation.

The excitement is building for the latest live-action movie (if you can call a largely CGI movie “live-action”), and there will likely be more movies to come.

And it all began with Transformers #1, where Marvel Comics first created the foundation for the Robots in Disguise.

87. MARVEL PREMIERE #28 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Stop me if you’ve heard this one. A vampire, werewolf, ghost, and a…something blow up a car and walk up the highway in broad daylight.

And that’s about it.

There is no comic book cover that screams 1970s quite like Marvel Premiere #28. There on the cover in the least frightening scenario possible are Marvel’s horror foundation, Morbius, Ghost Rider, Man-Thing, and Werewolf By Night.

While everyone else is talking about the Midnight Sons coming to the MCU, I wonder if the Legion of Monsters will appear in tongue-in-cheek fashion in the Marvel Halloween Special.

How many copies of X-Force #2 do you have in your collection? Are you hunting for any others on this list? Let us know in the comments!
