The X-Men’s 1991 series has reached the summit of the Hottest Comics, but it wasn’t the only issue feeling the heat from the MCU. Let's take a look at the Trending Comics from the last month.

The aftershock from the latest Doctor Strange trailer continues to cause reverberations in the secondary market. The X-Men’s key issues are picking up steam, and that extends outside the confines of the major entries.

The Hottest Comics ranks the top-100 best-selling single issues across eBay. Over a span of 30 days, these are the comics that had the biggest movement in sales volume. Join me on a deeper dive to see what trending comics are emerging in the last month.

1. X-MEN, VOL. 2, #1 (+2)

It finally happened. After weeks of creeping up the ranks and edging closer to the top, 1991’s X-Men #1 has dethroned Moon Knight #1 as the best-selling comic over the past 30 days.

No doubt, the issue’s climb up the mountain can be attributed to the abundance of X-Men MCU speculation.

Before Patrick Stewart’s voice was heard in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, Disney announced that the animated X-Men ‘97 was coming to the corporate streaming service and would revive the beloved X-Men: the Animated Series.

It all adds up to impressive sales for the second X-Men #1.

13. WOLVERINE #1 1988 (+18)

The MOM/X-Men fallout continues to upend the secondary market. There is a hot rumor that Wolverine has been recast, and the news is causing another surge for his key issues.

As prices rise, buyers are targeting his second-tier key issues, which begins with 1988’s Wolverine #1. This was the landmark issue of Wolverine’s first ongoing self-titled series.

Several volumes later, the title is still running due to the character’s enduring popularity.

For the past 30 days, Wolverine #1 has been getting a boost in attention, fueling a rise by nearly 20 spots in that span.

50. VENOM #3 FIRST PRINT (+48)

The Knull movie rumors may sound far-fetched, but they hold enough intrigue to give the God of the Symbiotes’ first full appearance a push up the ladder. This time around, the first print of Venom #3 slid ahead by almost 50 spots, dragging itself out of the muck of the bottom 10 and into the top 50.

Not much else has been said about the rumor that Knull will be the antagonist in the next Spider-Man film.

If the rumor mill stops churning, this will be the first issue to take an ice bath. For the moment at least, Venom #3 is thriving.

76. HARBINGER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

It was only a short time ago that the market was booming for the Valiant key issues. Around the time a Bloodshot movie was in development, Valiant announced it was producing a series of films based on its characters.

The result would have been an MCU-style Valiant-verse with overlapping stories from its different entries. Valiant announced at the time that Harbinger would be adapted into a movie, and it caused a spike in FMVs. Then everything collapsed, and the Harbinger movie was axed.

Now, the word is that Valiant’s Harbinger movie lives again, and Harbinger #1 is coming back to life.

95. CARNAGE: BLACK, WHITE, AND BLOOD #1 GLEASON WEBHEAD VARIANT (NEW TO THE LIST)

Cover hunters love those Patrick Gleason variants. He established himself among the premier cover artists with his negative variants for Spider-Man #55.

While those are typically the most talked about issues in Gleason’s portfolio, his take on Carnage: Black, White, and Blood #1 is appealing to more buyers as of late.

Standing alongside the negative artwork for Spider-Man and Venom, we have Carnage, who looks perfect against the fitting red backdrop.
