The Last of Us was trending across more than just HBO Max as it cracked the Hottest Comics this week, and it brought a few friends in tow.

It’s time to dive deeper into the Hottest Comics to see what comics were feeling the love from buyers over the past 10 days. Based on eBay’s figures, the rankings are compiled using the actual sales volume. Sure, there could be other issues making bigger jumps in fair market value, but those take a backseat here.

40. THE LAST OF US: AMERICAN DREAMS #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Just like that, the video game tie-in comic has officially burst onto the collecting scene. Proving that sticking to the dramatic source material is usually the best way to go with live-action adaptations (looking at you, Kevin Feige), HBO’s The Last of Us has been an overwhelming hit for Sony’s newest movie studio, PlayStation Productions.

With the increased attention on the show, buyers did what you’d expect and took to eBay for the franchise’s first comic.

15. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #129 (+34)

The Punisher is always a fan favorite no matter what symbol he wears on his chest. It keeps his first appearance ranked among the holiest of Bronze Age grails. No matter how high prices soar, collectors will always want a piece of ASM #129.

Between Frank Castle making headlines in the comics as of late and the persistent rumors of Jon Bernthal’s return to the MCU, it’s enough to put even this expensive issue nearly inside the top-10 Hottest Comics.

55. SILVER SURFER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Over on this week’s Hottest Comics blog, Fantastic Four #48 was moving the merchandise and cracked the top-five movers and shakers. It’s a big statement considering the prices for such a holy grail issue. With FF #48 featuring the Silver Surfer’s first appearance, it’s no wonder that his first self-titled comic would reemerge inside the best-selling issues on eBay.

After a brief hiatus, Silver Surfer #1 was back in the fold as collectors prepare for his inevitable MCU debut.

86. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 FACSIMILE EDITION (NEW TO THE LIST)

When you can’t afford the original ASM #1, what do you do? Go for the next best thing, which is the facsimile edition. These are nearly exact replicas of the original key issues, and they have been immensely popular among collectors.

While most are not bringing huge prices, there are some that defy the odds and reel in eyebrow-raising values. In the case of the ASM #1 facsimile edition, it’s been hovering near the $60 mark this year, which is quite respectable for what’s basically a reprint.

94. CAPTAIN AMERICA #117 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Sam Wilson’s name is once again trending across the Marvel fandom. There’s ample rumors and speculation regarding the possible villains for Sam’s first starring role on the silver screen in Captain America: New World Order. (I can’t be the only one who pictures the professional wrestlers here, right? Captain America versus the NWO would be worth the cost of admission.)

The biggest question mark is whether or not Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross will transform into Red Hulk, but there’s also gossip about Sin and the Serpent Society joining the fray. It’s enough to keep Sam’s first appearance as Falcon among the Hottest Comics.
