Marvel continued to dominate the secondary market, but Superman #75 in all its ‘90s glory cracked the top 100 this week.

It’s time again to dig deeper into the Hottest Comics and see what gems we can find. This week, Miles Morales was racing back into the top 10 while Superman #75 narrowly made the list. Here’s more.

7. ULTIMATE FALLOUT #4 (+6)

All the hype for Across the Spider-Verse is kicking Ultimate Fallout #4 back into the top 10 Hottest Comics. I’ve seen an increase in social media posts proclaiming that the bottom is falling out from under those expensive UF #4s. That’s simply not true. Granted, prices are down compared to the insane levels they hit between 2020 and 2021, but that can be said for practically every major key.

For collectors, falling prices are a good thing because it makes adding a copy to your set easier, hence the increase in sales volume. Let’s be honest, everyone is stockpiling for the Spider-Miles’ MCU announcement, which will be huge.

73. MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #5 (NEW TO THE LIST)

It’s not a matter of if but when will we see Ghost Rider return to the MCU. The last time he made it into live-action, Gabriel Luna brought Robbie Reyes to the small screen for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but nothing has been said on that subject since the show was canceled. It’s left fans speculating on a return to the chopper-riding Spirit of Vengeance coming to the MCU, which is precisely why Ghost Rider’s first appearance saw a spike this week.

79. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #798 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Every now and again, those Red Goblin keys you bought up in 2020 suddenly appear on the Hottest Comics index. Here we have ASM #798, an issue that didn’t necessarily feature the Red Goblin, but it did have Norman Osborn bonding with the Carnage symbiote, which would lead to the combo-character.

Besides the stunning Alex Ross covers, the Red Goblin story fell flat and was a complete misfire. It killed the market for all those keys, but perhaps some version of the villain will make a comeback.

94. SILVER SURFER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

With the Fantastic Four on their way to the MCU with their first feature film under the Marvel Studios banner. As the First Family arrives in the Multiverse, there’s no question that the Silver Surfer won’t be far behind. He’s been rumored for years, and there’s a theory that he was on the table for Endgame.

Earlier this year, there was gossip that he was in line for a Disney Plus one-hour special, but that doesn’t seem fitting for a character of his popularity. When he finally arrives, I imagine it will be a feature film or a full streaming series.

96. SUPERMAN #75 (NEW TO THE LIST)

With the anniversary of the Death of Superman upon us and DC reissuing the polarizing 1990s storyline, it’s created an increase in interest for Superman #75. Despite the fact that Superman’s eventual resurrection (and I’m sure more deaths and rebirths to come) basically made the event a moot point, this comic remains a ‘90s staple, with or without the gimmicky poly bag.
