San Diego Comic-Con shook up the Hottest Comics this week, and the reverberations could be felt from top to bottom. Let's jump in to this week's Trending Comics!

Marvel Studios rocked the house at SDCC, and the news gave buyers plenty of hot issues to target. As expected, it upended the secondary market. What issues were making their ways up the ladder? Let’s take a closer look.

3. MARVEL SUPER-HEROES’ SECRET WARS #1 (+19)

It’s hard to narrow down Marvel’s biggest surprise from SDCC, but an argument can be made for Avengers: Secret Wars. All we know is that the movie will cap Phase 6 in 2025. Past that, it’s pure speculation, but isn’t that the best part of the MCU?

As it were, buyers leapt on 1984’s Secret Wars #1. Interestingly enough, the original SW comics were created specifically to sell toys, and Marvel Comics was a master of the toy marketing game at the time. After Mattel made a deal to produce a line of Marvel action figures, they needed stories to help sell the idea to kids. Voila, Jim Shooter put together the tale of The Beyonder as he collected heroes and villains in an epic showdown for his amusement.

65. UNCANNY X-MEN #244 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Another SDCC fallout target was Uncanny X-Men #244, the first appearance of Jubilee. She’s been the running joke of the X-Men’s corner of the Marvel-616 for years. It stems from her power to make fireworks from her fingers. At least she saves money on Fourth of July and New Year’s.

There’s growing interest in her debut thanks to the X-Men ‘97 reveal. Jubilee was a featured character in the 1992 X-Men: the Animated Series, and she will return for the Disney+ cartoon. She could have a larger role in the show, and that may put her on the live-action radar as well.

80. SUB-MARINER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Sub-Mariner 1 created by Bill Everett

Another contender for the biggest moment at SDCC was the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer. Out of all Marvel’s trailers, Ryan Coogler may have produced one of the company’s most engaging and emotional previews yet.

The real fan-pleasing moment was seeing Tenoch Huerta arrive as Namor in the MCU. That has inspired another wave of excitement for the king of Atlantis’ first Silver Age appearance in Sub-Mariner #1.

98. INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Speaking of Wakanda Forever, we caught our first glimpse of Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams. She’s seen paying tribute to Tony Stark’s origin story as she builds her Ironheart armor.

What role she will play in the Black Panther sequel has yet to be revealed, but we know that she will be important in the larger MCU. After Wakanda Forever, she will be featured in Armor Wars and her own Ironheart series.

100. TIMELESS #1 HUMBERTO RAMOS VARIANT (NEW TO THE LIST)

Here is an issue that has been in and out of the top 100 Hottest Comics in recent months. Timeless is focused on Kang the Conqueror, and it could be a hint as to what the MCU has in store for the time-traveling despot.

The issue also has some firsts to entice buyers, like the debut of the Punisher’s Warlord of the Hand emblem, and new characters Anatoly Petrov along with another Iron Fist, Lin Lie. Then there’s this particular variant with Miss Minutes on her first comic book cover.
