Wolverine may have gotten top billing, but Spider-Woman was trending in a big way on this week’s Hottest Comics index. We're taking a look at this week's Trending Comics picks!

When the X-Men finally land in the MCU, it is going to blow the secondary market wide open. At the moment, we are seeing just the preview of things to come, and already those X-keys proliferated in the top 100 Hottest Comics. When there are so many key issues and first appearances to collect, that goes with the territory. Factor in the Marvel speculation, and you have a recipe for major success.

What issues have been trending deeper in this week's top 100? Come with me.

20. INCREDIBLE HULK #340 (+19)

Maybe we didn’t get any fresh X-Men news at D23, but that hasn’t sullied buyers on those Wolverine keys. After all, Taron Egerton has confirmed he spoke with Marvel Studios about playing the MCU’s Logan, and there have been multiple Wolverine Easter eggs in the past year. It makes it a seller’s market for all those Wolvie-keys.

Let’s not forget that the upcoming PS5 game in development that has teased a Wolverine-Hulk clash, and there’s no more popular cover art featuring the two than Todd McFarlane’s masterpiece for Hulk #340. Yes, that includes Hulk #181.

28. SPIDER-WOMAN #1 (+13)

There’s a hot rumor that a villainous version of Spider-Woman will be appearing in Across the Spider-Verse. This comes from the latest Spider-Verse merchandise reveal, which featured a toy with the name Cyborg Spider-Woman. That has created a new wave of comic speculation aimed at Jessica Drew’s early appearances.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt matters that there’s still plenty of gossip that she will debut in live action as part of Secret Invasion.

80. MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #32 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Speaking of Spider-Woman, her first appearance was back in the spotlight this week. While it may have been at the back of the list, the indication is clear that buyers are warming up to her key issues once again.

If she does appear in both Across the Spider-Verse and Secret Invasion, that will cause this issue to catch fire virtually overnight.

92. BATMAN #497 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Ever since Matt Reeves’ The Batman triumphed across movie theaters, there have been theories galore about the sequel’s antagonist. One of the most common names surfacing has been Bane, and fans have not quelled their speculation as of yet. That is the most likely reason for Batman #497’s emergence inside the top 100 eBay best sellers.

It’s hard to imagine that Reeves will want to forge territory already established in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, but stranger things have happened.

98. IRON FIST #14 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Buyers were on the hunt for Sabretooth this week. While Victor Creed’s first appearance narrowly clawed its way onto the Hottest Comics, it did manage to crack the top 100, which is worth noting. This could be due to Sabretooth getting top billing for the newest volume of Exiles, and we all know that sudden changes in the comics could be a predictor of things to come in the MCU.

By no means am I guessing Sabretooth is a shoo-in for the big-screen X-Men, but it is worth thinking about.

Keep up with ALL the latest Trending Comics!
