Spider-Man 2099 climbed closer to the top-10 Hottest Comics this week. Meanwhile, Fantastic Four #46 reappeared after years of being on the outs with collectors. What else made the Trending Comics list?

It’s time again for the Trending Comics, the list that dives deeper into the Hottest Comics. No surprise, the intrigue of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has had a major effect on the secondary market.

13. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365 (+6)

Miguel O’Hara’s first appearances are on the way up thanks to the buzz for Across the Spider-Verse: Part One.

He was last seen in the massive hit, Into the Spider-Verse, and fans have been waiting to see more after his surprise appearance in the post-credits scene. That excitement is pushing his first preview in ASM #365 nearly into the top-10 Hottest Comics.

In the backup story for that comic, readers found the opening pages of Spider-Man 2099 #1.

While it is technically a preview, many collectors regard this as the character’s debut.

27. INCREDIBLE HULK #181 (+17)

More and more surprises are being spoiled for Multiverse of Madness.

At the time of this writing, trailers had revealed the Illuminati and Captain Carter, and there has been leaked footage that reportedly confirms the arrival of Mister Fantastic.

However, there’s still one question mark lingering, and it hangs over Wolverine.

The rumor for months has been that he will appear in MOM, and that is the likely reason the uber-expensive Hulk #181 climbed 17 spots this time around.

98. FANTASTIC FOUR #46 (NEW TO THE LIST)

It goes back to that leaked footage I mentioned earlier. Not only is Mister Fantastic supposedly in the clip, but we see Black Bolt in all his muted glory.

Of course, they were both members of the Illuminati in the comics, so their involvement in MOM makes sense.

The key here is that it is the first time we have seen the live-action Black Bolt since the failed Inhumans series.

Will this signal a return for the entire Royal Family? That could very well be in the plans.

71. BATMAN #251 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The sad news in the past week was the passing of comic legend Neal Adams. The prolific artist of the Silver and Bronze Ages left an unmatched body of work, and his influence on generations of artists is undeniable.

Choosing his greatest work is a highly debatable question, and Batman #251 is absolutely in the top five. The iconic image of Joker holding the playing card with Batman held hostage is a work of art that will continue to be duplicated for decades.

Seeing it crack the top-100 Hottest Comics shows that buyers are remembering one of the greatest artists in their own ways.

55 .G.I. JOE, A REAL AMERICAN HERO #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Snake Eyes came and went at the box office with mixed results, and there are likely more G.I. Joe movies to come.

With all the animated reboots and continuations happening these days, when will Hasbro revive the 1980s cartoon show?

We need a return to lasers, Cobra Commander, and public service announcements where knowing is half the battle.

At any rate, the first G.I. Joe comic based on the ‘80s cartoon joined the Hottest Comics this week.
