There was plenty of action to be found on the Hottest Comics index this time around, but the clear winner was Red Hulk’s first appearance.

13. HULK #1 (+77)

Harrison Ford’s casting has rocked the secondary market. Just when we thought people were excited about Red Hulk possibly joining the MCU, adding a legendary star with such name recognition exponentially upped the ante. Now that it’s been confirmed that he will bring Thunderbolt Ross’ gamma-powered alter ego to CGI life as well, that’s sent the Hulk #1 market into an upheaval. This week, it did a Hulk-sized leap through the rankings, moving from 90th to 13th position.

8. MOON KNIGHT #1 (+10)

Here you have a clear-cut example of how the market works. Earlier this year, 1980’s Moon Knight #1 became the key de jour for all those MK fans wanting a piece of the action but without the budget for Werewolf By Night #32. Then came the show, and both issues followed the usual path of peaks and valleys.

Now that Moon Knight is back in the headlines with rumors galore about his next MCU appearance, it’s giving buyers a new reason to track down Marc Spectre and his superpowered personality’s first self-titled comic.

31. WEST COAST AVENGERS #45 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Based on the numerous reports that Vision will be starring in his own Disney Plus series, buyers are once again putting West Coast Avengers #45 on their shopping lists. The last time we saw the super-android, Paul Bettany had a laughably bad sneer in the White Vision costume. Then he and regular Vision talked about the Ship of Theseus, and suddenly White Vision is off to who knows where.

Fans were dismayed when he didn’t appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so a new series should help answer some questions.

73. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #121 (NEW TO THE LIST)

For Spidey fans, this has been a must-own for decades. With George Stacy being added to the cast for Across the Spider-Verse, it would seem that we may just get a new version of the classic story, “The Death of the Stacys.” Of course, it won’t possibly match the comics, at least not in the animated movie. After all, Gwen explained in Into the Spider-Verse that in her reality, she and Peter basically swapped roles, with her surviving and gaining powers while he died.

Could we see that take place on the screen? It’s a possibility, and that would fuel speculation for both ASM #121 and #122.

82. DAREDEVIL #131 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Here’s a comic that we haven’t featured on the blog in quite some time—Daredevil #131. This issue marked the first appearance of Bullseye, one of DD’s most famous villains. He’s also one of the better adversaries from the early years, given the silliness of the Silver Age rogue’s gallery. We haven’t seen him in live-action since the final season of Netflix’s Daredevil. However, with Born Again in development, there’s a chance that Bullseye could follow DD into the MCU. Given Marvel’s propensity for more sitcom and less drama, I’d be surprised if Kevin Feige didn’t skip Bullseye in favor of the goofy 1960s villains. After all, the MCU DD costume is a play on the original, much less cool, yellow and black gear.
