Movie news has made Nova #1 and Voltron #1 two of the hottest commodities on the secondary market, and they are trending upwards on the Hottest Comics rankings.

To get a comic trending in a big way, just give it some movie news or at least a fun rumor. That has been felt across the spectrum this week. Not only did Nova and Voltron make moves, but Silver Sable and Danny Ketch were in the mix as well.

Remember that the Hottest Comics are based on eBay sales volume. The index is based on the past 30 days’ sales data, but the list changes daily. That means you’ll see plenty of issues jockeying for position on the ladder, and it pays to dig deep to see which new faces are appearing in the ranks.

7. NOVA #1 (+44)

The reports have been making the internet rounds this week - Nova is officially coming to the MCU.

After years of rumors, the Man Called Nova will be getting his own feature film, and that has catapulted his first appearance into the top-10 Hottest Comics.

All grades for Nova #1 were already pricey, and many of those broke records in the past year.

With the renewed interest in the title, it makes me curious how that will affect the sales volume in the coming weeks.

38. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #298 (+58)

Seeing Venom keys all across the Hottest Comics index is nothing new.

Practically every week, we will see the likes of ASM #300, Secret Wars #8, and ASM #252.

What was a bit of a surprise was seeing ASM #298 jump 58 positions.

Collectors know this issue’s significance as Todd McFarlane’s first artwork on Amazing Spider-Man as well as the first cameo appearance of Venom climbing across Eddie Brock’s hand.

55. AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #265 (NEW TO THE LIST)

There was a new casting announcement for the Madame Web movie, and many fans have assumed she will play Black Cat.

Felicia Hardy has an Easter egg in a newspaper headline in Morbius, so coupling the casting speculation with the allusion has theorists wondering if the fabled Black Cat/Silver Sable movie could be on the table.

That team-up film was rumored for years before being officially canceled, but Silver Sable could follow Black Cat into the Sony-verse.

67. VOLTRON #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The 1980s cartoons are en vogue in the collecting world, and many old favorites are getting movies. Now, we can add Voltron to the list.

Before there were the Power Rangers, the Voltron pilots brought their robots together to form a giant, sword-wielding samurai.

Fans of the classic anime series have demanded a movie for years, and they’re finally getting their wish granted. It has put a fresh spotlight on Voltron’s premiere issue, which debuted at #67 this week.

100. GHOST RIDER #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The Ghost Rider rumors have been percolating in recent months. There’s speculation that Nicolas Cage will return to the role amidst questions about Gabriel Luna reprising his Agents of SHIELD portrayal as Robbie Reyes.

Don’t ignore the theories that The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus could join the MCU as Ghost Rider, and the idea is that he will play Danny Ketch.

That is undoubtedly the culprit of 1990’s Ghost Rider #1 joining the Hottest Comics this time around.

What do you think? Are you grabbing any of these movers this week? Let us know in the comments!
