Collectors were taking aim at the MCU’s youth movement throughout November as the Young Avengers and the Champions are once again on the trending comics list.

The Hottest Comics ranks the top 100 single issues by sales volume. Most collectors peruse the top-20 sellers and go about their business, but it could pay dividends to dig deeper. That’s where you find the emerging trendsetters, and it’s the kind of information that can help you stay ahead of the investment curve. Take a look at these five key trending comics that are gaining momentum.

Young_Avengers_1_Miss36. YOUNG AVENGERS #1 (+20)

After the West Coast Avengers Easter egg in the Hawkeye premiere, the Young Avengers talk has cooled significantly. However, this is one key you don’t want to ignore. One way or another, the Young Avengers are coming to the MCU. Will they be called the Young Avengers? That is questionable, but the pieces are falling into place.

First, it was Cassie Lang in Ant Man, then WandaVision introduced a young Wiccan and Speed. Afterward, Patriot made a cameo in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and now Kate Bishop has made her MCU debut. To take it a step further, America Chavez, who was a member of both the Young Avengers and the revamped West Coast Avengers, will be appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

No matter their MCU name, the team’s debut will remain Young Avengers #1, and this key will not stop growing for years to come.

43. DARTH VADER #3 (+19)

With The Book of Boba Fett incoming later this month, the Star Wars keys are seeing another spike. Disney+ has given rise to a Star Wars renaissance, so collectors are on the hunt for anything that could tie into the upcoming series. One of the more popular modern SW keys has been Darth Vader #3.

This issue featured the debut of Doctor Aphra, who has generated a following in the comics, which makes her a prime candidate to join the live-action Disney+ Star Wars universe.

It’s that potential that keeps her first appearance trending upward.

78. WEREWOLF BY NIGHT #32 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Throughout November, Moon Knight’s first appearance fell off the pace a bit. That does not mean it lost money. After the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ show was released, buyers immediately hit the auction sites for WBN #32. The trouble is that it was already expensive well before the footage was dropped.

When it comes to sales volume, it is heavily influenced by the fair market values, and those expensive holy grails tend to fall to the wayside when there are more affordable keys readily available. As old favorites tend to do, WBN #32 bounced back into the good graces of buyers everywhere by the end of November.

98. CHAMPIONS #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

The MCU is aiming toward younger audiences by introducing more teenage characters.

There’s the aforementioned Young Avengers on the horizon, and both Kamala Khan and Riri Williams are set for their Disney+ series in the next couple of years.

That has collectors making predictions on the future teams, and it stands to reason that the later incarnation of the Champions is on that list.

There have been rumors the team will be in the MCU, and that could be what brought this issue back into the fold this month.

100. ALPHA FLIGHT #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Buyers can’t figure out what to do with those Alpha Flight keys. One month, they are soaring through the sales rankings. The next sees them fall outside the top 100.

It all comes down to the X-Men movie rumors, and the persistent gossip that Alpha Flight could be the first mutants in the MCU. That speculation is enough to keep buyers heading back to Alpha Flight #1 in the hope that it pans out.
