Echo and America Chavez saw their key issues crack the top 100 best sellers over the past 30 days while an iconic Todd McFarlane cover rounded out this week’s Trending Comics.

It’s all about that sales volume. Certainly, the fair market values are the driving force behind the market, but there is always room for the FOMO effect. Not familiar with that one? It’s the fear of missing out (FOMO, get it?), and the sales volume accentuates that buying phenomenon. When it comes to that juggernaut of the box office, the MCU, there is always the fear of missing out and not getting your hands on a hot key before prices get out of hand.

With that in mind, it’s time to check on five Trending Comics that are gaining respect from collectors.

41. MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #72 (+22)

Here is a deeper cut in the Wolverine pantheon. MCP #72 began the epic tale of the Weapon X program, specifically its ties to Wolverine and his adamantium skeleton.

There is a persistent rumor that Logan will get his own anthology series on Disney+, and the story will follow his Weapon X past. That would put a premium on this issue with its classic cover art.

60. DAREDEVIL #10 (NEW TO THE LIST)

DD #9 may get the glory for being Echo’s first appearance, but DD #10 is coming into its own as of late. This issue featured her first cover appearance as well as her origin story.

On a lesser note, readers also saw her father in a comic for the first time, though he does have the honor of being Maya Lopez’s Uncle Ben with his death being the only real contribution to the story.

Cover collecting is a booming market, and this issue has yet to reach its peak. That should come when Echo debuts on Disney+.

67. VENGEANCE #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Now that the first trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has dropped, look for those America Chavez keys to heat up.

In the footage, we see the signature star emblem on the back of her trademark denim jacket.

With the potential for Young Avengers and West Coast Avengers in the MCU, America will likely be featured in many projects going forward, so stock up on these issues while you have the chance.

68. STRANGE ACADEMY #1 (NEW TO THE LIST)

Strange Academy #1 has returned to the Hottest Comics. Then again, it’s not like anyone seriously believed the debut issue of Strange Academy would stay out of the top 100 for long.

After all, this is the first appearance of several magical characters, and each one has the potential to make it into either animated or live-action form. The prospect of MCU shelf life will keep this one a speculative darling for years to come.

93. BATMAN #423 (NEW TO THE LIST)

When it comes to cover hunting, Todd McFarlane will always be king. Here you have one of his earliest hits. There’s no denying the influence this piece had on his later works, and the flowing cape with its many jagged points would become a prominent feature in “the Toddfather’s” Spawn covers.

What also makes this issue so prized among McFarlane fans (McFans, maybe?) is that it’s a DC character since most of his iconic entries were under the Marvel banner.
