Many vintage action figures (and some new ones) go for thousands of dollars and have become hot collector's items. On October 29 Heritage is holding an action figure-specific auction, featuring collector Mark Freedman's TMNT collection. If you're looking for a new figure for your collection, you may just strike gold with this auction! Almost all of us reading this has played with action figures. My personal favorites were Batman figures, but I had plenty of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ones as well. To this day, I and millions of others still collect action figures, except now most of us keep them in their original packaging.

Princess of Power She-Ra

If you grew up in the 1980s, chances are you desperately wanted to be He-Man or She-Ra. The marketing behind both properties led to some of the most iconic and collectible toys from the 1980s! She-Ra herself still remains popular to this day, with new, limited-edition toys being released periodically.

This Series 1 AFA NM 80 is a beautiful example of this figure! Finding complete in-box or on-card toys from the 1980s can be difficult to obtain -- especially in this condition. Similar loose figures of She-Ra typically sell between $20 - $60 on eBay, depending on condition and how complete they are. On the card, She-Ra's also has a wide price range -- which again falls on the condition of the overall item.

A similar card figure, in what appears to be in fair condition, sold for $100 in October of 2022. A few days later another on the card She-Ra in better condition sold for $28. Graded examples are harder to find, but will always fetch more money than their ungraded counterparts.

Expanding Legs Inspector Gadget

I was obsessed with Inspector Gadget as a child. Following the exploits of Gadget, a clumsy cyborg human, Gadget's mission is to stop the evil Dr. Claw and his group, M.A.D.. Helping Gadget on his adventures are his super-smart niece Penny, and the family dog Brain. Penny did most of the digging and inspecting, while Gadget carried out the more physical stuff. This show is delightful and fun and spawned a franchise that's still around to this day.

Inspector Gadget figures from the early 1990s can be harder to find, but not as hard as the toys from the 1980s. This AFA 85 NM+ Expanding Legs Inspector Gadget figure is a wonderful example of this figure. With the figure still firmly attached to a near-mint card, this is a wonderful piece for any Gadget fans! A similar example sold on eBay for $30 in September of 2022, while another one in lower condition sold for $45 in July of 2022.

As far as Inspector Gadget toys go, this isn't the rarest one -- but it's still a cool and important figure based on the original cartoon!

World's Greatest Superheroes: Isis by MEGO

MEGO toys are some of the most collectible figures to come out of the 1970s. I have several of my own, including Captain Kirk and Batman! MEGO's 8-inch figures were industry standard during the 1970s, but in 1982 the company filed for bankruptcy, and then closed in 1983. MEGO made a return in 2018, and produces limited runs of new and returning favorites.

The Secrets of Isis premiered on CBS in September 1975. The show was also tied into the Shazam! series, as both main protagonists would appear in either show. A year after the show premiered, DC started its own comic about Isis. With the feature films Shazam! and Black Adam, it's only a matter of time before Isis appears in the DCEU.

This ADA 75 EX+/NM figure of Isis is a wonderful item. This MEGO features a type 1 body and can be very hard to find in such good condition. On eBay, a similar ungraded Isis sold for $349 in August of 2022, while a loose figure of Isis sold for $89 that same month. Parts for this figure routinely sell for over $30, meaning this graded Isis MEGO is something to keep on your radar!
