Almost all of us reading this has played with action figures. My personal favorites were Batman figures, but I had plenty of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ones as well. To this day I and millions of others still collect action figures, except now most of us keep them in their original packaging. Many vintage action figures (and some new ones) go for thousands of dollars and have become hot collector's items. On October 29, Heritage is holding an action figure-specific auction, featuring collector Mark Freedman's TMNT collection. If you're looking for a new figure for your collection, you may just strike gold with this auction!

G.I. Joe - Eagle Eye Land Commando Figure

In 1976, kids playing with G.I. Joe could now get their hands on a figure with "eagle eye" -- or eyes that moved from side to side. These figures added a new depth to playtime, and there are a few different versions out there.

These have gone on to become rather valuable. Complete figures out of their original card routinely sell for over $100 -- in fact, a complete but opened figure sold for $201.50 in August of 2022 on eBay.  Loose parts sell for between $20 - $50, so having a complete package Eagle Eye figure is a solid collector and investor piece. Heritage notes this item as being in Very Good condition.

Star Wars Princess Leia AFA NM 80 Kenner Action Figure

Kenner's Star Wars figures are some of the most sought-after action figures. Rare ones can go for thousands of dollars, and common ones can still fetch large amounts. This Princess Leia figure stands out from the rest. This 12-back Leia on an A card back with an SKU on the footer indicates this as being one of the early releases, making this a rare figure. With an AFA grade Near Mint 80, this should be on everyone's radar.

The later releases of this figure routinely sell for over $150. In October of 2022, a later release figure with a very worn card sold for $259.66 on eBay. This figure will likely surprise all of us with its ending price.

Andre the Giant WWF Wrestling Superstars Bendies Figure

Andre the Giant is a wrestling and pop culture icon. Lovingly called the eighth wonder of the world, the larger-than-life entertainer still lives on in the hearts of wrestling fans, and merchandise based on him can be highly collectible. In 1985 LJN released a line of WWF Wrestling Superstars Bendies figures. Superstars included Hulk Hogan, Iron Shiek, King Kong Bundy, and of course Andre the Giant. Vintage wrestling toys and memorabilia are highly collectible -- but in this case, Andre the Giant was more than just a professional wrestler. This figure appeals to a variety of collectors outside of the squared circle fandom.

Similar ungraded figures usually sell for under $50 on eBay. In August of 2022, a similar Andre the Giant sold for $49.90, while two loose ones sold for $30 and $31 respectively. Hertiage's AFA 80 is a fine-looking figure, and it wouldn't surprise me if it ended at over $100. While I don't see this as being a big investment piece, this would be great for collectors.
