Todd McFarlane controlled this revamp of Spider-Man, literally playing a one-man-band style of creativity. McFarlane was the writer, artist and cover artist for Spider-Man #1 (Silver Edition). This card flipping mutant comes courtesy of Chris "The X-Men" Claremont (writer) who created this character in Uncanny X-Men #266. Top Ten Popular Modern-Bronze Age ComicsThe Eternals #1 (Number 4)

This is the first appearance of the Eternals and these books have been hot for the last 4-5 months. Eternals #1 is worth owning and selling into the movie. I have heard so many bizarre theories about this movie. Honestly, I don't like any of the fan theories to date. They all sound like awful ideas, and potential failures at the box office. This month The Eternals #1 is the fourth runner up for the most popular comic book. This creation of Jack Kirby's is a great speculation play all day long.

  • Grade 6.5 $88 last sale 2-20-20 returns positive +25%

Top Ten Popular Modern-Bronze Age ComicsAmazing Spider-Man #300  (Number 3)

This is the first full appearance of Venom, the Millenial anti-hero. Much like Wolverine from two decades earlier, he has no compunction about a high order of violence which of course makes him a fan favorite. Created by David Michelinie (writing) and Todd McFarlane (art). This is also the first issue inked by the renowned Todd McFarlane. This month Amazing Spider-Man #300 was edged out by an Avengers comic, not its usual spot in third, to be sure.

Top Ten Popular Modern-Bronze Age ComicsAvengers Annual #10 (Number 1)

This is the first appearance of two of my favorite X-Men, Rogue and Madeline Pryor. There is some scuttlebutt that has Rogue fighting Captain Marvel in the next movie but who knows. I believe that Madeline Pryor might appear in the New Mutants movie. Avengers Annual #10 is numero uno popular comic book last month per GoCollect. To beat out ASM #300 is no joke. This is a solid book to speculate with right now and killed almost everything else in the top ten last month from an overall return standpoint, take a look...

Short-Term (1-Year)

  • Grade 9.8 $576 last sale 2-24-20 returns positive +54%!
  • Grade 6.0 $46 last sale 2-10-20 returns positive +44%!

Conclusion:

Apparently, the first X-men to debut in Marvel Cinematic Universe will be Rogue. She will play a villain in Captain Marvel 2. This makes an interesting matchup and having a powerful X-Men character take on Captain Marvel should be fun to watch. The numbers quoted above speak for themselves. With GoCollect's ranking system you can pick from among the top books easily and Avengers Annual #10 should be one of your speculation pics, "sugar!"
