The Bronze Age of comics covers the time period from 1970 to 1985. It is also when my favorite comic came out, Giant Size X-Men #1. This era saw many new styles emerge with more minority superheroes and team-ups happening. This is also the era that we were introduced to the infamous Reprints. Many great books were published during this time. Let's see which are the current Top 5 Bronze Age books that you should be on the lookout for.

5. The Savage She-Hulk #1 (Origin and first appearance of She-Hulk)

Everyone loves the Hulk but meet his cousin, She-Hulk! When Jennifer Walters was injured, her cousin Bruce Banner gave her blood through a transfusion. This transfusion turned this lawyer into a green, mean, fighting machine. However, there is one key difference between Hulk and She-Hulk, she has her intelligence and personality intact. Rumors are that a TV show is still in the works but with everything going on many projects have been pushed back. Personally, I would love to see Gina Carano as She-Hulk. Thoughts?

4. The Eternals #1 (First appearance of The Eternals)

Over one million years ago, the Celestials came to Earth. While here, they conducted experiments on early proto-humans creating two races, the Eternals and the Deviants. The Eternals always protected humanity, especially from their evil counterparts the Deviants. Marvel can do so much with the Eternals. Their history is so intertwined with dozens of characters that sky's the limit to what they can do. Currently, there is a timer on the Marvel website which shows about 207 days left till we get to see this long-anticipated movie. If you want to check the timer click HERE.

3. Wolverine #1 (First solo title of Wolverine and First appearance of Yukio and Shingen Harada)

Beautiful iconic cover and of course Wolverine! You cannot go wrong with this book. So many rumors are floating around about the X-Men and the MCU. It is only a matter of time before we see them on the big screen. One X-men stands out above all others, Wolverine. All of his key books have risen in value and will continue to do so. If you don't believe me check out his first appearance, Incredible Hulk #181. Yukio makes her first appearance here as well. It also helps that we have already seen Yukio in two MCU movies. There is a good chance we might see her again down the line. Scoop this one up while you can!

2. Amazing Spider-Man #252 (First Black Spider-Man suit in regular series)

Ah, the infamous black suit. Every Spider-Man fan was just waiting on pins and needles to see him showcase his black suit in the MCU. Albeit, not many are happy that Tobey Maguire was the one who wore it. Regardless it is still an iconic cover and story-line. Seeing the black suit opened the door for Venom to come out and WOW did the world love seeing Tom Hardy as Venom. Now that there is a part two to Venom called Venom: Let there be Carnage, all of his books have started to rise. A 9.8 still commands an FMV of $475 but we see sales jumping in the $600-$800 range.

Last but not least, the #1 book on the Hottest Bronze Book List...

1. Marvel Super-Heroes Secret Wars #8 (Origin of the symbiote that becomes Venom)

Do I really need to explain why this is here? With all the buzz about Knull and the Venom movie, everything Venom is hot! Even though this book isn't seeing sales like ASM #252, it still is a great book to grab. Hulk tells Spider-man that a machine will create a new costume for him just from his thoughts. Unfortunately, or fortunately (depending on how you see it) Spider-Man encounters a glob that soon becomes his suit and then Venom. Secret Wars is also a rumored story-line we might see down the line so there are many reasons why you should jump on this book now before it sees a spike.

Bronze Books Bottom Line

The above 5 books all have their own merits. In my opinion, each one is worth having and collecting. While prices continue to rise some of these might become unattainable. Score them now while you can. Best way to collect is to always buy with your head and read with your heart.

Hope you enjoyed!

Till Next Time, Happy Hunting!
