Question: What titles begin with the letter “Q” anyway? Answer: Well, Queen & Country, for one, and . . . ermmmm, The Question, for two. All right, granted, today is by no means the most voluminous edition of 28 Days of Comics, but we all need a breather sometimes. And, if you happen to be a fan of spy titles, today’s a great opportunity to catch up on the adventures of Tara Chace with Queen & Country. Packed full of espionage spanning the gamut from industrial to international, Greg Rucka’s critically acclaimed title explores the dark alleys and whispered betrayals of which the international intelligence community is comprised. Throw into the mix one tough-as-nails agent (in the form of Tara Chace) and the creative team’s careful exploration of gender bias, and you’re left with a multi-layered series of tales that function on levels far more complex than your average intrigue thriller. And that’s a lot of levels.

For fans of masked detectives in corrupt metropolises who prefer fisticuffs and smarts to superpowers, enter The Question. Many of you might be familiar with The Question from the transitional story arc as revealed in 52. But prior to this was a successful three-year run in the ’80s, and before that, the character’s first appearance in the late ’60s within the pages of Charlton Comics. Not only is The Question a classic comic character with an impressive 40-plus-year history, he’s also the inspiration for another nosy investigator, Rorschach, of Watchmen fame. For fans of comic history, it’s definitely a title to check out.

Check back with us tomorrow for the letter “R.” There will be a bunch of great titles on the block, including Robin, Ray Harryhausen Presents, Runaways, and even some great stuff for the kids like Return of the Gremlins.

So who’s a fan of Queen and Country? Any “Q” titles we missed? Post your comments below.
