Please do yourself a favor and check out today’s 28 Days of Comics, because we’ve got some great “P” titles to choose from, and there’s no time like the present to save 28%.

The most obvious title today is The Punisher. There’s plenty of product in there to satisfy your hunger for bullets, blood and Frank Castle’s go-get ‘em attitude. Other titles to look out for are Painkiller Jane, Jim Woodring’s Portable Frank, and Garth Ennis’ Preacher.

I’ve gotta say that I’m most excited about Powers today. Bendis and Oeming hooked me early when is was being published at Image and I eagerly followed it when Marvel (Icon) picked it up.

I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll stick to a couple “need to knows.” The book follows two detectives as they work the “Powers” beat. They’re charged with solving the crimes that involve people with superpowers. One of the main characters, Christian Walker, used to have powers, but he lost them and uses his connections to the super hero world to solve cases.

If Powers were a TV show, it would be like a mash-up between Cops and any cartoon on the Cartoon Network. That’s probably not exactly the best simile, but that’s what it feels like to me. It gets more complex and exciting, but you’ll have to pick up a book and find out for yourself.

We’ll see you back here tomorrow for the “Q” titles! That means Queen & Country and Question
