Not so long ago, Disney's D23 event happened. With that, Marvel confirmed a She-Hulk television series in the works. The show is set to premiere in 2022, without an actual premiere date. The COVID-19 pandemic is causing production delays, so it could be a long wait. In addition, it has pushed other corresponding shows and movies for Marvel to further dates down the timeline.
Since that announcement, the first appearance of Jennifer Walters, aka She-Hulk has exploded! The Savage She-Hulk #1 is her first appearance and is it currently has an FMV of $375 for a 9.8 graded comic. Anyways, the new rumor is that the series will feature many hulks, not just Bruce Banner and Jennifer Walters. We are almost certain Red-Hulk will make an appearance or two in the series. Another consideration is Betty Ross, who is Red She-Hulk which I hinted at in a previous blog. Let's talk about the keys to the notable hulks who could make their MCU debut.
A-Bomb:
As old as the Incredible Hulk is, Rick Jones is just as old. He also appeared in the legendary Incredible Hulk # 1 in 1962. A friend and sidekick to many heroes, such as Captain America, and the Hulk, Jones does become A-Bomb. His first appearance as A-Bomb is in Hulk #2 (2008). His transformation is a result of MODOK experimenting on him by inserting Abombination's blood into him. Hence, his appearance is very similar to the creature he received the blood from. His abilities include superhuman strength and durability, along with scales around his body, which allow him to blend with the surroundings.
Totally Awesome Hulk:
Amadeus Cho made his first appearance in the Amazing Fantasy #15 series. The iconic cover resembles that first appearance of Spider-Man. The story for him is he used special nanites to remove the Hulk from Bruce Banner and place it into this body and became Hulk. During this time, Banner had absorbed a lethal amount of radiation. His chances of appearing as the Hulk is small, but grabbing his keys now is incentive enough. His first appearance as the Hulk is found in Totally Awesome Hulk #1. He is a young character with an Asian background that has already received his own series and starred in many teams such as the Champions and The New Agents of Atlas.
Skaar:
What about the possibility of introducing the son of the Hulk? Mark Ruffalo has played this character for a long time (10 years) and what about the chance of replacing him with his son? In fact, he has not even done his own solo movie yet. Anyways, as I digress, Skaar is the son of the Hulk and the extraterrestrial Caiera. His first appearance is in What If? Featuring Planet Hulk #1. The possibility of taking the mantle is not high, but introducing him in the MCU could pave his wave for the next phases. Marvel does have a way of introducing characters and changing their origin stories from the comics. I would expect this would be the case if they introduce Skaar.
Bonus:
I am not really sure if Universal still owns the Hulk property for solo movies. I hear rumors that Marvel is trying to get his rights or they have it already. Either way, it is not a matter of if, but when, and that is the first team-up of She-Hulk and the Hulk. Incredible Hulk #282 is the book to own for that team-up and we can expect that happen in her television series. The cover is awesome if I might add and a reason why Hulk does so many team-ups.
Also, I could see She-Hulk go through the rigors of life and have a hard time balancing life as She-Hulk. With that, it would be interesting if she turns grey for an episode or two. Generally, she would go grey if she is experiencing some deep trauma, but you never know. The first appearance of She-Hulk as grey is in Sensational She-Hulk #15. No one for sure knows who will be on the show, but it is always fun to speculate.
