2009 Pittsburgh ComiconMedia Release -- The days are ticking down to Pittsburgh Comicon 2009, but we still have some news about the upcoming show.

First off, we just added another group of guests to our 2009 line-up including:

• Horror artist/writer, Tim Vigil

• The team of Ken Haeser and Buz Hasson from the comic, The Living Corpse

• And adding to the already star-studded line-up provided to us by Catskill Comics, we now also have fan favorite comic cover artist, David Michael Beck coming to the show.

We have also added a bunch of events to the 2009 Events Schedule

First off, Friday Night’s traditional Casino Night just got more Vegas-y, because not only can you gamble and try to win great comic prizes, you can also enjoy a floor show provided by the band, A Life of Science. Come to gamble, come to hear the band or just come and hang out,. Admission & Stakes are $5. All profits go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Secondly, we just received a whole slate of panels hosted by our good friends from the Star Wars Association of Pittsburgh. Their panel line-up includes:

Creating Your Own Action Figures and Props
Crafting and Sci-Fi
Planning Your Sci-Fi Vacation
An Introduction to Anime
and more!

The Star Wars Association of Pittsburgh also is taking part in our Kidz Day with Star Wars Kids Crafts on Sunday.

Speaking of Kidz Day, I’d like to thank Heather Kreiter for adding yet another incentive to our 2009 Kidz Day. She will be distributing 50 copies of her My Little Demon Mini-Coloring Book. Any other artists or vendors that would like to take part in Kidz Day, time is running out to get your promotion into the program book. I’ll be taking submissions for Kidz Day promotions until the end of the week. So if you are interested get your info in A.S.A.P. You can email your promotions to pcomicon@floodcity.net (please put KIDZ DAY PROMOTION in the subject line of your email.)

Lastly on a sad note, we recently lost a great friend of the con.
Clayton Hill from Dawn of the Dead passed away at the end of July.
Clayton has been a long-time guest of the Comicon and he will be sorely missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Clayton’s family and friends in their time of need.
