Even though America Chavez doesn't have a long comic book history, investors have been snapping up her key issues ahead of the Dr. Strange sequel. We'll discuss a few of those issues below.

As we all know, Kevin Feige is almost certainly laying the groundwork for a Young Avengers film. Several members of the team have already appeared on screen, including in Ant-Man (Cassie Lang) and WandaVision (Tommy Shepherd and Billy Kaplan). Marvel has confirmed that several more will appear, including the inter-dimensional traveler, America Chavez, in the 2022 film, Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. America is the first Latina LGBTQ+ to lead her own Marvel series. 15-year-old Xochitl Gomez will portray America in the MCU.

Vengeance #1: First Appearance of America Chavez

We see America for the first time in Vengeance #1. In this issue, America's working with the third iteration of the Teen Brigade to free the In-Betweener from prison. This issue doesn't contain America's origin story; specifically, about how she was born in a different dimension, the Utopian Parallel. We don't learn about that story until Young Avengers Vol. 2.

This issue and its variant are overheating. During the past year alone, sellers on eBay have sold 47 CGC 9.8 copies of this book and, during that same period of time, the value of this book has risen by 44%. According to GoCollect, its FMV is $620. Although there have only been six sales of CGC 9.8 copies of the Vengeance #1 variant during the past year, that variant has gone off the charts. Its FMV is $1,750 and its value has risen by 143% over the past year. While it's possible that the value of these two comics may rise a bit more once we see America on screen for the first time, I'd stay away from these two books at this point in time. If you don't have them already, it seems to me that you've missed the boat.

Young Avengers (Vol. 2) #1: America Joins the Young Avengers

Fortunately, several of America's key issues remain highly affordable. For example, Young Avengers (Vol. 2) #1 is an affordable alternative to Vengeance #1. This issue contains the first team appearance of a new Young Avengers team that includes America Chavez. Considering which characters Marvel has confirmed thus far, it's likely that we'll see a team that's an amalgamation of the teams that we've seen in Young Avengers Vol. 1 and Young Avengers Vol. 2. Specifically, when the Young Avengers do appear on screen or on Disney+, the team roster will likely consist of Speed, Wiccan, Hawkeye, Stature, Patriot, Iron Heart, Ms. Marvel, and America.

According to the CGC Census, very few graded copies of Young Avengers (Vol. 2) #1 exist. For those CGC 9.8 copies that have traded hands, the sales price has varied from $50 to $179. You can, however, purchase raw, high-grade copies of this book for around $12 on eBay.

America #1: America Chavez's First Solo Series

Like Young Avengers (Vol. 2) #1, the standard edition of the first issue of America's first solo series remains highly affordable. CGC 9.8 copies of this book are now selling for $100; however, you can still find raw, NM copies on eBay for around $10.

On the other hand, many of the nine variants of this issue have skyrocketed in price. For example, according to GoCollect, the FMV of CGC 9.8 copy of 1:25 America #1 Mckelvie variant is now $260. Its value has risen by over 50% during the past three years.
