Secret WarriorsNow is the time to invest in the Secret Warriors before their upcoming MCU debut. Here are more keys for you to keep an eye on.

The team is similar to the Runaways in that they are the outcast children of supervillains, only this team is led by Nick Fury. Currently, these first appearances are relatively inexpensive, which creates an opportunity to buy low before the speculation tide rises.

At this point, all we know is that a Secret Warriors project is in the works. There's no word on if it will be a Disney+ series or a feature film. As far as characters, it's anyone's guess who will appear on screen. The lineups from the Marvel Rising cartoon and the comics are different, but I am focusing on the primary group from the comics universe consisting of Quake, Manifold, Phobos, Druid, Stonewall, Hellfire, and Slingshot.

Secret WarriorsSECRET WAR #2 (2004)

This issue features the first appearance of Daisy Johnson, aka Quake. She is the daughter of Calvin Zabo, better known as Mister Hyde. As her name implies, she can create vibrations that cause the ground to shake.

Quake's debut is the more expensive issue on today's list. At a 9.8, it has a 90-day fair market value of $86, which is down from 2018's $107 FMV. Still, the last sale was for $103 in March, so it appears to be on its way up.

Secret WarriorsMIGHTY AVENGERS #13 (2008)

When it comes to first appearances for the Secret Warriors, this issue should be at the top of your shopping list. Not only is this the debut of the team, but it features the premieres of Druid, Slingshot, Hellfire, and Stonewall.

As I have written before, the second print is a better investment. Last August, a 9.8 sold for $90, and there haven't been any other transactions since. The first print will cost you less - at the moment, it is a $50 comic at a 9.8 - but it doesn't have as strong of an upside.

Secret WarriorsDOCTOR STRANGE, SORCERER SUPREME #32 (1991)

If Marvel Studios chooses to put Phobos/Alexander Aaron in the live-action Secret Warriors, will that mean that his father, Ares, is on the horizon? We shall see.

Phobos premiered back in 1991, and he hasn't made any particularly big waves since. That explains why his first appearance, even at a 9.8, is so inexpensive. Last year, the 9.8 only sold twice for an average of $36. However, one traded hands for $55 last month.

Secret WarriorsSECRET WARRIORS #4 (2009)

There haven't been any recorded sales for Eden Fesi/Manifold's first appearance, at least not in the graded variety. CGC has just five copies listed on its census, and those are all 9.8s. In other words, this is an opportune time to invest. On eBay, there are listings for raw copies of Secret Warriors #4 for less than $6. There's no telling if Manifold will appear in the live-action Secret Warriors, but if he does, this issue will be on the move.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Secret Warriors project is in the early developmental stage, and it's too soon for any news on the lineup. Still, as cheap as these issues are, it's worth the gamble that any one of them could be featured on screen.
