It's time to buy up those early issues of the Eternals. They're blowing up the market, and you don't want to be left out of the boom. Last month, Variety reported that The Eternals was officially entering the MCU. Just two years ago, only the hardcore fans wanted those Eternals keys. Now that the rumors have turned out to be true, everyone is trying to get a piece of the action before it's too late to turn a profit. Unfortunately, it's just about to that point, considering the prices of higher grades of Eternals #1.

For those who don't know, that issue features the first appearances of the Eternals and the Celestials. We've already seen the Celestials in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, albeit briefly; if you'll remember, when the Collector was explaining the Infinity Stones, we caught a glimpse of a Celestial destroying an entire planet "like wheat in a field." We also get to see the decapitated head of a Celestial being used a space station known as Knowhere.

In the comics, the Celestials are genetic engineers who have created various races, the first of which were the Eternals. As rumor would have it, many fans believe the Celestials will play a major role in Phase Four and beyond. There's also the whispers of an Eternals feature film in the near future. That has sent collectors into a frenzy for Eternals #1.

Over the past 12 months, Eternals #1 has absolutely exploded. A couple years ago, you could have bought a near-perfect 9.8 for about $224. Starting last May, the price started moving by leaps and bounds. It quickly began bringing over $300. Suddenly this past April, the rumor of a movie sent prices through the proverbial roof as it started hitting prices of $800 or more and hasn't dropped below $700 since. Beginning in September, it's crossed over the $900 mark and sold for a record-high $1,000 on October 16.

If you're on a tight budget, you can still grab an 8.0 for under $100, so things aren't out of hand quite yet.

As I have said time and again, where you can truly tell how hot a comic has become is in the lower grades. Over the last 90 days, nothing has sold below a 5.5, and that grade is bringing $75 at the moment.

Eternals #2 is picking up quite well, too, so you'll want to keep watch on this one. Like its predecessor, the Eternals #2 at a 9.8 has ballooned lately. Last year, it was averaging $209. In the past 12 months, it's jumped to a fair market value of over $300, but it's the past 90 days where it's really taking off. Since August, it's had an FMV of $612 and the last sale was for $810. If you drop below a 9.0, you can get out much cheaper since it's just the higher grades that are bringing the escalating prices.

At this point, it's a waiting game to see when the Eternals will officially enter the MCU, but it appears that is going to happen. Just like Captain Marvel, once we have a teaser trailer, this comic will skyrocket, so act now.
