For your spec consideration, a potential sleeper is the 2006 Star Wars Dark Horse series which has experienced huge rises in value in the last 3 years.  The Knights of the Old Republic keys might deserve to be on your speculation radar.  What is going on with this series?  For example, the FMV of  The Knights of the Old Republic #9 has gone nuclear.  Three years ago, there were no sales, and no FMV established for this issue.  Now a graded 9.8 KOTOR #9 has an FMV of $2,000!  Whether you call it the Mandalorian Effect, the 2003 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic RPG video game effect, or maybe the Darth Revan Effect, The Knights of the Old Republic series keys are moving up in value or poised to make a move up.  Or is it all hype and FOMO instead?

The Knights of the Old Republic #9

Let's start with the issue that is a beast.  This issue has the first full appearance of Revan (before becoming Darth Revan).  Who is Revan?  Revan is a very powerful and gifted Ex-Dark Lord of the Sith AND ex-Jedi Knight who lived 4000 years before the Battle of the Death Star (see ya Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin).  The character of Revan is now a fan-favorite in the Star Wars expanded universe, even rivaling Darth Vader himself!  Revan had great battlefield achievements in the Mandalorian Wars, the Jedi Civil War, the Great Galactic War, and beyond.  Both the Sith and the Jedi revere Revan.

As mentioned earlier, the numbers on this issue are craziness.  Basically, this issue has gone from zero to $2,000 for a 9.8 grade in 12 months!  There have been 9 sales in the last 8 months that range from $85 to $2,200 for a 9.8 grade.   Is this an overvalued issue?  Currently, probably so.  Is it due to a correction?  Again, probably so.  When it comes to long-term speculation, do you want this issue?  Yes.  Revan's popularity is huge.  Just make sure you buy it after the price corrects.

The Knights of the Old Republic #42

Next up is the issue that gives us the origin of Darth Revan, the 1st appearance of the Jedi Malek, and the 1st full appearance of Chantique.  Not only that, but Revan also gets his mask, and Malek heads for the dark side.  So, this issue is jam-packed with spec possibilities.

There have been 3 sales with an FMV of $375 for a graded 9.8.  Again, like #9 there were no sales before the last 12 months.  What is the speculation opportunity here?  This issue has room to grow in value.  If issue #42 is confirmed by having more sales, it is a strong contender for a buy sooner rather than later.

The Knights of the Old Republic #8

This issue contains the first full appearance of Mandalore the Ultimate.  There was an earlier cameo in Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War #6.  Mandalore the Ultimate led the Mandalorian during the Mandalorian Wars and died at the hand of Revan.

A 9.8 graded copy has a $400 FMV with 2 sales in 2020.  Again, no graded sales until the last 12 months.  What about this issue?  Not much track record when it comes to sales.  This is a wait and see speculation opportunity.  Let some time go by and see if there are more sales or this is simply hyped sales and FOMO.

So, are you in or are you out?  Let me know in the comments.
