The Eternals will open nationwide on November 5th, an early Thanksgiving digital feast. Now we need to know; what Eternals keys to buy, sell, or hold? Further, what character appearing in this movie should you hold onto?

Prior to the public premiere, the critics have already taken a shot at The Eternals. With a low rating on Rotten Tomatoes and critics doing a collective "Eh... it was ok." I believe there is cause to be concerned for comic book speculators and even collectors. Should we hold Eternals keys prior to the movie? In my humble opinion, this is going to be a hard movie to sell to audiences. After all, it barely sold as a comic book back in the day, and none of the comics were that popular when they initially came out.

I believe the initial Eternals run in comics only lasted 18 episodes. Though the Celestials are going to be cool to watch, they aren't enough to keep this group running. I expect a similar response as with the Inhumans TV series. You know how that series went, right? Into the eternal critic toilet. So which books do we hold onto?

The Eternals #1

This book is a big book for this franchise it is the first appearance of The Eternals. But because I believe this will be a one-hit-wonder, you should probably sell it into the movie. Can it rise like everything else in comic book land? Yep. Will it? Nope! It has probably peaked. The Multiverse is the next big event and I think the Eternals are just a one-off much like Black Widow.

Current Price

Current pricing is down around $2375 for October sales, compared to $3800 in May of 2021. This represents a loss of $1425, or roughly a 37% decline in value! Can it collapse further? Sure, we can go back five years ago and these things are sitting in the 50% off bins and not moving at all priced at $9.95!

The Eternals #3

This is the first Cerci appearance and probably going to be a big character in the story. Angelee Jollee is in this movie. It is a shame that Hollywood looks only at star power to plug into a movie hopeful to move the demographic needle by representing every possible group of viewers. She will probably have a big part to play in the movie. After all, they paid a ton of money for that name; let us hope it pays off. Of course, they might just have to kiss that money goodbye, ahem.

Loss of Value 50%

This book is one of the bigger keys but has lost 50% of its value since June. This is just the beginning...

Avengers #48

I want to end on a positive note with the arrival of Kit Harrington. He will play the Black Knight, which should play well and sets him up for his own origin story movie. Who doesn't want to see this guy strap on a sword again? The Black Knight III first appeared in Avengers #48.

The Pointy End

Looking at this book is the exact opposite of the Eternal destruction of profit noted in the previous two books. At the beginning of 2021 a grade 9.8 sold for $16K, now recently as September 1st, 2021 this same book sold for $25K this is more than a 50% markup on the previous price. Three cheers for Kitt! Hip! Hip! Horray! Obviously, this Marvel Silver Age comic Avengers #48 has substantial value now and will continue to increase from this point on. Of all the comic book chaos from Eternals, this one character, Black Knight, will stride through to victory.

6 Management Tricks You Can Learn From Jon Snow Without Beheading AnyoneConclusion

The real reason to sell your Eternals comics, even now during a price decline, is to extract whatever profit you can so you can buy-in when these books crater. In addition, the Black Knight book Avengers #48 is simply the best bet for the future. Just about every investor should have a copy of this key comic. For speculators and investors, it is better to exit stage left prior to premiere; that way you can avoid the rotten tomatoes thrown by the audience.
