The New York Yankees have been one of the most legendary teams in baseball history. While the franchise had a dry spell during the 1980s, they roared back in the 1990s, winning 4 titles between 1996-2000. While many fans around the country hated these Yankee teams, they also respected their greatness. Here are key cards from some of the most important members of those teams.

Bernie Williams 1990 Bowman

Williams, a sweet-swinging center fielder, signed with the Yankees when he was only 17 years old. In his early career, he hit for a decent average and played strong defense. But as the Yankees' core developed, so did Williams, and he blossomed into an all-around hitter with power and speed.

In addition to winning 4 titles with the Yankees, Williams also appeared in 5 All-Star games and won 4 Gold Gloves. Today, the former baseball player has turned to music and is a Latin Grammy-nominated guitarist. His best rookie card is his 1990 Bowman issue which sells for $50 in a PSA 10.

Mariano Rivera 1992 Bowman

Mariano Rivera will go down as the greatest closer in baseball history. The 13-time All-Star was most famous for stepping his game up a notch in the postseason and was named the World Series MVP in 1999. Like Jeter, he took home 5 World Series rings, playing until 2014.

Rivera first became eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2019 and was elected after garnering 100% of the vote. Rivera's best rookie card is included in the 1992 Bowman set, with a casual image rather than one of him pitching. The card is one of the true keys from the legendary set and sells for $600 in a PSA 10.

Joe Torre 1962 Topps

The manager for four of those World Series wins was Joe Torre. Prior to becoming a manager in the big leagues, Torre had been a star catcher for the Braves, Cardinals and Mets. The National League MVP in 1971, Torre also made 9 All-Star games during his career.

While he was a near Hall of Famer as a player, Torre's managerial success put him over the top and he was inducted in 2014. Torre still works in baseball, now serving as an executive in the commissioner's office. Torre's rookie card, from the 1962 Topps set, sells for more than $1,200 in a PSA 8.

Derek Jeter 1993 Stadium Club Murphy

The centerpiece of the Yankees dynasty was shortstop Derek Jeter. Jeter was a member of all 5 championship teams. He also notched more than 3,000 hits, made 14 All-Star games, and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020. Playing his entire career in New York, Jeter became an icon both on and off the field.

Jeter's most popular rookie card is his 1993 SP issue, though the cost of the card is too high for many collectors. A nice alternative is his 1993 Stadium Club Murphy card. The issue sells for more than $600.

Paul O'Neill 1986 Donruss

In 1992 the Yankees made a key trade, acquiring Paul O'Neill from the Cincinnati Reds. The right fielder was still young but had won a World Championship in 1990. He soon became a rock in the Yankees lineup, providing a high-quality bat and strong defense in right field.

The 5-time All-Star recorded more than 2,100 hits over the course of his career and won 5 World Series rings. O'Neill has remained close to the Yankees serving as a television analyst for the team's games. His 1986 Donruss rookie card sells for around $100 in a PSA 10.
