I had so much fun writing my first blog on second appearances. So much fun that I decided to write another on some key Marvel characters. My first blog, Be on the lookout for these 2nd appearances, details some key issues that people should consider for their collection. Nowadays, comics are getting more expensive. This is tied primarily to a  character's first appearance. With that, collectors should grab a character's second appearance as an alternative option. In this blog, I will discuss that and include issues that also provide the first cover appearance of the character as well. Issues that have double significance could provide big gains for collectors in the long run.

Mr. Sinister

Uncanny X-Men #239 is the second appearance of Mister Sinister. This issue is also the first cover appearance of the character. This issue is definitely undervalued. The first appearance is leveled at $290 for a 9.8-grade copy. His first appearance can be found in Uncanny X-Men #221. It is a really nice cover for the character. As an added bonus, it is the first cover appearance of Madelyne Pryor as the Goblin Queen.  There is no guarantee this issue will go up, not even if the character is confirmed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU.) However, if the first appearance reaches a high price it provides low risk and a cheaper alternative.

Mister Sinister rumors?

Mister Sinister has been rumored for a while to join the MCU.  When the mutants were owned by Fox, there were possible connections to him showing up in the latest movies. Particularly, the one where the mutant Apocalypse headlined.  He is linked to the other mutants, specifically the X-Men. This makes Mister Sinister an ideal recurring villain for the MCU going forward. For this issue, collectors will notice there is a newsstand copy and "So Much Fun" variant to look for. This is in addition to the direct edition,

Wilson Fisk/Kingpin

Amazing Spider-Man #51 is another great issue to own for Marvel collectors. This issue depicts the second appearance of the character, Wilson Fisk. In addition, the issue also contains the first cover appearance of the character as well. The character's first appearance is in the iconic red cover of Amazing Spider-Man # 50.  Fisk, also known as Kingpin, is a notorious villain in the Marvel universe. Amazing Spider-Man #50 is an issue to consider. It is a first appearance issue that has been steadily rising due to his MCU rumors. The rumors that the character joining the MCU is inevitable.

Kingpin in the MCU?

Fisk is a character that has already appeared in live-action tv. He appeared in three seasons of the tv series, Daredevil on the Netflix platform. He was the main rival of  Matt Murdock. There is also a heavy rumor that Vincent D'Onofrio may be reprising the role as Kingpin in the MCU.  His ties to many great Marvel heroes make him an ideal, recurring villain for the upcoming phases for Marvel. His ties to heroes include names such as Spider-Man, Punisher, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. All of the heroes I have mentioned are either already in the MCU or very much rumored to be joining in the near future.
