Indy Comic Book WeekAs you may already know, Diamond Comic Distributors will not be shipping any new comics during the last week of December. While many of us will miss our favorite titles (temporarily), this is an excellent opportunity for independent comic book creators to get their books in front of a wider audience! Jake Ekiss, Vinh-Luan Luu, Paul Milligan, and Matthew Warlick have been busy promoting Indy Comic Book Week, and Things From Another World is excited to take part in this revolutionary event!

To wit: independent comic book creators, show us your stuff! Submit your work to us by December 16, 2009. If we like your comics, we’ll buy them carry them on our website, TFAW.com, as well as in our three Oregon locations!

There are three ways you can submit your work–make sure you attach a completed Submissions Agreement:

  1. Email us a sample of your work to indy@tfaw.com (if you submit via email, please fax your Submissions Agreement to (503) 654-4170, ATTN: Andrew McIntire)
  2. Mail your submission to Things From Another World, 10956 SE Main Street, Milwaukie OR 97222 ATTN: Andrew McIntire
  3. Drop off your work at one of our three Oregon locations

Again, we must receive your work by December 16, 2009, and you must include a completed Submissions Agreement with every piece you send. We will be choosing our favorites December 21st. Keep in mind that if we decide to buy and carry your comics, we must receive them by December 28th, so we have them in time for Indy Comic Book Week!

Also: whether we choose your work for our stores or not, all independent creators are invited to sell their comics (free of charge!) in our Oregon stores Wednesday, December 30! Space is limited, so call Andrew McIntire at (503) 905-2395 to register!

Whether you love making independent comics or just love comics, period, please spread the word! We are excited to reach out to the independent comics community and bring these offbeat, brilliant creations to our customers.
