Collecting trading cards has been a time-honored tradition for generations. From baseball cards to Pokemon cards, there’s a trading card for every kind of fan! Trading card games focus on the gaming aspect of certain trading cards — such as the previously mentioned Pokemon and the widely popular Magic: The Gathering.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Enemy Controller

This card immediately caught my eye thanks to the vintage-inspired controller on the card. This Enemy Controller came from the first edition Dark Crisis set Vampire Lord. This is a helpful card to have in your Yu-Gi-Oh! deck. It's also a unique card to add to a graded collection as well.

This blue label CGC 9.5 Gem Mint is one of the Ultra Rare cards in the game, making this a unique find. As far as pricing, this card will likely sell on the cheaper side, even with buyers' fees. If you're a collector, this is a great card to grab.

Magic: The Gathering Black Vise

This Black Vise card is a unique find. From the Alpha Edition of Magic, this uncommon card is anything but.  Black Vise is always a draw when it comes up for sale. This blue label CGC 8.5 NM/Mint might not be the highest grade, but this card still has plenty of eye appeal and presents well.

The grade shouldn't affect the price either. Ungraded versions of this card have a median price of $434.50. In March of 2021, Heritage sold a PSA 5 example for $480. This is an ideal card for collectors and investors alike.

Dragon Ball Z - Goku, The Unbeatable

Goku, the super-powerful protagonist from the Dragon Ball franchise, looks ready to brawl from the Trunk's Saga expansion set. Dragon Ball Z has a dedicated fanbase, and some items from the franchise's history can go for a surprising amount. In this case Goku, The Unbeatable is a harder-to-come-by card.

A BGS 9-graded example sold for $699 on eBay in March of 2023. This PSA 8 NM/Mint is a great-looking card, and it wouldn't surprise me if it went for over $400. If you're a DBZ collector or just want a cool card for your collection, this is it.

Pokemon First Edition Jungle Set Sealed Booster Box

Without fail there's at least one sealed booster box in each weekly TCG auction. If you've been reading these articles for a while, then you know how much I love sealed booster boxes. These boxes are a fun gamble. As this is a first edition, many of the cards in this set -- Vaporean, Snorlax, and Jolteon -- can go for serious money when graded. But there's also a market for sealed packs and sealed booster boxes.

We've seen first-edition Base sets sell for over $300,000 on Heritage since 2021. In December of 2022 sealed the first-edition Jungle booster boxes all sold for over $10,000. You could always hang onto the box and not open it, or you could open it and sell the packs individually, or open all the packs and sell the cards one by one. This is one of the more unique aspects of collecting. Heritage notes this booster box as being in Excellent condition.
