Collecting trading cards has been a time-honored tradition for generations. From baseball cards to Pokemon cards, there’s a trading card for every kind of fan! Trading card games focus on the gaming aspect of certain trading cards — such as the previously mentioned Pokemon, as well as the widely popular Magic: The Gathering.
Magic: The Gathering Mox Sapphire
One of the rarest and most powerful cards in the original Magic: The Gathering Unlimited Edition is the Mox Sapphire card. As far as collectible M:TG cards go, this is as good as it gets. Ungraded copies of this card have a median price of just under $10K, and even used or damaged cards can still go for thousands of dollars.
This blue label CGC 5 might stop some people, but do not let this mid-grade fool you. Heritage sold a similarly graded card in May of 2022 for $9,000, and to date, CGC has only graded 37 cards at a higher grade.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Gladiator’s Assault 1st Edition Sealed Booster Packs
Sealed booster packs are a true gem when you’re a TCG collector. They have the potential to be worth double or even triple what you pay, but there’s also a chance they won’t have any rare or hard-to-find cards at all.
This expansion set for Gladiator’s Assault — the 6th set in the Yu-Gi-OhZ! TCG — includes rare cards such as Magic Formula or Elemental Hero. There are 5 sealed booster packs in this lot, and each contains 9 cards — giving you 45 chances to find a rare card. Heritage notes this lot is in overall good condition.
Pokemon Unlimited Edition Base Set Sealed Booster Box
In 1999 Pocket Monsters made its global debut, resulting in one of the most well-known and beloved franchises of all time. From cards to video games, and even cars based on certain Pokemon, this series is here to stay! Collecting graded Pokemon cards (and video games) has become a big deal in the collectors market, with some cards going for thousands of dollars. Up for sale in this week’s auction is a Pokemon Unlimited Edition Base Set third edition sealed booster box, which will still fetch thousands of dollars when the auction ends.
While yes, it is a third edition, it could still possibly contain valuable cards such as Charizard or Blastoise. With 36 sealed packs containing 11 cards each, there’s a chance you could find some gold out of the 396 cards. Or you could also keep this relic sealed!
Pokemon Poliwrath #11 EX Unseen Forces
Poliwrath is a powerful water/fighting-type Pokemon and the third evolution from the adorable Poliwag. Poliwrath is one of the original 150 Pokemon and has also been featured in the anime series. This Poliwrath card is from the EX Unseen Forces, the 10th expansion set of the EX Pokemon series, but it still is playable with the main Pokemon line.
This blue label CGC Pristine 10 is a real treat. Perfect 10 cards and always a sight to behold, and this card is no different. The ungraded median price for this card is only $9, but graded cards tend to go for much more. While Heritage has not sold this particular Poliwrath card before, I still anticipate this card ending at over $50.
