Collecting trading cards has been a time-honored tradition for generations. From baseball cards to Pokemon cards, there's a trading card for every kind of fan! Trading card games focus on the gaming aspect of certain trading cards -- such as the previously mentioned Pokemon, as well as the widely popular Magic: The Gathering. Each week, Heritage holds a TCG Select auction, featuring some fine examples from the TCG world. These cards can be raw, graded, or sometimes still sealed in their original packaging. If you're a TCG collector, these weekly auctions should not be overlooked!

Magic: The Gathering Fourth Edition Sealed Booster Box

Booster boxes for TCG games can be some of the best investments a player or collector can make. A typical booster box contains 36 packs with 15 cards each, giving players a chance to find rare or key cards out of a total of 540. This booster box for the fourth edition of Magic: The Gathering is a rare find for Magic collectors and players as it is still factory sealed.

Heritage has sold similarly sealed boxed in the past -- the last time one came for auction, it sold for $$1,980 in November 2021. Heritage notes this box as being in overall excellent condition.

Heritage also has a sealed booster box for Homelands, if you're looking to further boost your collection!

Pokemon Charizard #4 Unlimited Base Set Ex/NM 6

Charizard is without a doubt the single most popular card from the original Pokemon TCG. The final evolution from the started Pokemon Charmander, this commanding fire-type dragon does some serious damage to his opponent no matter which version of Pokemon you're playing or watching!

High-grade Charizard cards have sold for hundreds of thousands in the past, and given enough time, a near-mint card could eventually break the million-dollar price point. If that's a little out of your price range, you're in luck. This CGC blue label Ex/NM 6 is a beautiful example of the card. In June 2022 Heritage sold a similar card for $4,560.

Pokemon Unlimited Sealed Booster Pack

Want to take a gamble? This sealed booster pack from the original Pokemon TCG run could be packed with gold. This sealed pack contains 11 cards, which Heritage notes as being in excellent condition. These packs were under $5 when they were first released, but now they can go for over $100. Complete boost boxes have sold for over $30,000 in auction, while graded sealed packs have sold for over $1k respectively.

While you could get the pack graded, who would want to pass up the chance to possibly find a mint Charizard card? Heritage has three total sealed packs up for auction, increasing your probability of finding a rare Pokemon.

Pokemon Pikachu 1st Edition NM/Mint+ 8.5

Since 1999 Pikachu has been the mascot for Pokemon and has even become a mascot for the Nintendo Corporation as well! The electric-type rat Pokemon is a fan favorite and has been the subject of movies, video games, and unlimited merchandise. Pikachu is also one of the main (if not the main) Pokemon in the popular Pokemon anime. This first edition card is a fine example, boasting a CGC blue label 8.5 NM/Mint+.

This card features a red-cheeked Pikachu, while some cards featured a yellow-cheeked Pikachu. One is not necessarily rarer than the other, so why not catch them all!

In October 2022 Heritage sold a similar card with the same grade for $480 -- by comparison, a GEM Mint 10 sold for $3,360 in November 2022.
