Strange AcademyAccording to comicbookinvest.com, Strange Academy #1 is listed as the #3 book on their weekly "Hot 10 Comics" for the week ending on July 17.  Strange Academy #1 by Marvel Comics was released to the public on March 4, 2020. It is a new comic series featuring a magic school for young sorcerers. The series is centered around a female sorcerer, named  Emily Bright, who gets recruited to join and polish her magical powers at the Strange Academy. If this sounds familiar, then the Strange Academy series closely resembles Harry Potter. Harry Potter is a book series written by J.K. Rowling that famous worldwide and ended up being made into live-action movies.  The Strange Academy series has a lot of potentials and it could be a great long term hold for years to come.

Strange Academy

As a comic book collector, Strange Academy #1 is a must grab for long-term speculation. The first issue features multiple first appearances of characters that could provide exceptional gains in the future. The issue displays the first appearance of at least six notable characters from the school. Characters such as Emily Bright, Doyle Dormammu, Shaylee Moonpeddle, Zoe Laveau, Calvin Morse, and Dessy. Each character is different and brings a unique style to the class. Some students such as Doyle come from a historic lineage, while Emily appears to be just a regular "down to earth" human who happens to possess magical powers.

Amazing Spider-Man

If anything, history has shown that Marvel issues with multiple first appearances have nice financial gains. For example, Amazing Spider-Man #31 features the first appearances of Harry Osborn and Gwen Stacey. These characters play a prominent role in the Spider-Man mythos. Almost every Spider-Man animated series on television mentions these characters as they play an important role in shaping Peter Parker's life. The issue is worth a couple of hundred dollars to thousands, depending on what grade the book is.

To me, Strange Academy has "Disney Plus" television potential written on the wall. The characters and writing style fit the audience that Marvel attracts. Meaning, people watching this show would range from children to young adults.  Marvel could spin the series either into animated or live-action, depending on how much money they want to invest in the show. The series will introduce the audience to a new age of sorcerers that could succeed in the likes of Doctor Strange, Brother Voodoo, and Scarlet Witch. In addition, it is paramount that Marvel introduces new characters with different storylines to keep viewers interested for the future.

Strange Academy Wrap Up

Strange Academy

To sum up, if you are a fan of Harry Potter and like comics, then Strange Academy is the perfect series to read. Nonetheless, Strange Academy is a good read that provides long term speculation potential. The series has all the makings of a future Marvel movie or television show. It is a matter of time before the announcement of a project from Marvel is being developed. So make sure to grab an issue and read it as well.
