Spider-Gwen, Spider-Gwen, doing whatever a Spider-Gwen does. And what she could be doing is swinging into the live-action MCU. That will make her keys more valuable than ever.

Since she first emerged from the Spider-Verse and into the Marvel-616 comics universe, fans can’t get enough of Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider/Spider-Woman. The alternate version of Gwen Stacy has mesmerized audiences, and she has crossed into the mainstream spectrum after Into the Spider-Verse.

At the moment, all things Spider-Verse are red hot. Between Spider-Man: No Way Home and the new trailer for Across the Spider-Verse, mainstream audiences are enamored with everything Spider-Man. The best part is that NWH opened the MCU to what could be Spider-Gwen’s biggest moment yet when she sets foot in the realm of live-action. That potential should have you taking a second look at these Spider-Gwen keys.

EDGE OF SPIDER-VERSE #2

Next to Gwen Stacy’s first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #31, this is the biggest Gwen key to own. Of course, the Silver Age Gwen and Spider-Gwen are two different characters, and that’s what makes Edge of Spider-Verse #2 special.

After Gwen Stacy’s death in the masterfully told ASM #121-122 - minus the weird cloned Gwen that we’ll pretend doesn’t exist - she reappeared in Edge of Spider-Verse #2. From there, she quickly became one of Marvel’s most popular characters, and she is still making her mark on Marvel-616.

With Spider-Gwen returning in Across the Spider-Verse and her potential in a future live-action Spider-Man movie, this comic isn’t going to plateau in the near future.

SPIDER-GWEN #1

Gwen’s first starring role in her own self-titled comic has been picking up steam for the past couple of months. That is thanks to Across the Spider-Verse, and it is safe to assume that she will play a pivotal role in the movie.

What helps this issue the most in the sales department is the prices. Compared to Edge of Spider-Verse #2, Spider-Gwen #1 is a steal. Granted, it doesn’t feature any major first appearances. Still, collectors always enjoy when characters get their first starring roles in a series.

There’s such potential with Spider-Gwen; I think this issue will continue to climb as she reaches new heights in the mainstream spotlight.

SPIDER-WOMEN ALPHA #1

This may not be the first issue you think of when it comes to those Spider-Gwen keys, but that only makes it a sleeper pick. It’s easy to forget that shortly after Into the Spider-Verse was released, Sony had previously announced that a female-centric animated Spider-Verse movie was on the agenda.

With the commotion surrounding No Way Home and Across the Spider-Verse, it is easy to overlook those past comments, and many fans may think the all-female Spider-Verse movie has faded away. What it really means is that a female Spider-Verse spinoff is likely coming next, and that could feature Spider-Women Alpha.

This team consists of Spider-Gwen, the original Spider-Woman, Jessica Drew, and Silk. Since Silk is on her way to the screen, it stands to reason that the three women could join forces for an animated movie of their own.

SPIDER-POTENTIAL

Officially, neither Marvel nor Sony have made any announcements about Spider-Gwen outside the animated Spider-Verse movies. With all the talk of Silk, Black Cat, Silver Sable, and even Jackpot getting their own movies and shows, it would be a waste not to see Gwen get her starring role on the big or small screen. Her time is coming in the MCU, and it will make Spider-Gwen keys that much more collectible.
