Tomb of Dracula #1Have you have been on the fence about Marvel Spotlight #2 and Tomb of Dracula #1? It's time to get moving because these issues have the potential for significant gains in 2020 thanks to the latest Disney+ news.

Five months ago, I recommended taking a gamble on Marvel Spotlight #2. If you followed my advice, you could be in line for a big payday.

According to a number of sites, Moon Knight’s Disney+ series will feature both Dracula and Werewolf by Night. Of course, these are only rumors, and nothing has been made official. However, as I have written before, the MCU’s upcoming horror-themed movies, Blade and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could indeed open the door for Marvel’s Bronze Age horror characters. It seems Marvel Studios could be doing just that by adding Dracula and Werewolf to the mix.

That being said, here is your buying guide for their first appearances.

Tomb of Dracula #1 - Marvel Spotlight #2MARVEL SPOTLIGHT #2

This issue has been climbing basically since the Blade reboot was announced. With the latest round of speculation, this issue is going to continue its surge in a big way. Once Jack Russell is confirmed for Moon Knight, that will only be the beginning. Although not the most popular of Marvel’s creations, Werewolf by Night has his share of fans, and that following has been waiting for him to debut in live-action for over 40 years. When he finally reaches the MCU, they will celebrate, and that will raise the bar for MS #2.

At the moment, mid and lower grades for the Werewolf’s first appearance are still reasonable. However, prices are rising quickly, so don’t delay. Take the 3.0, for example. In 2018, it averaged less than $40, but it now commands an $80 price tag. There’s also the 6.0, which is now a $200 comic when it averaged fewer than $100 less than two years ago. This is the pattern for virtually every grade, and it won't be slowing down anytime soon.

Tomb of Dracula #1TOMB OF DRACULA #1

The first appearance of Marvel’s Dracula hasn’t taken off like Marvel Spotlight #2, but it is poised to have a big year. Personally, I love the Neal Adams covers for these Dracula comics, and the art alone makes them worth adding to your collection.

In the past 90 days, there hasn’t been too much activity for Tomb #1, but this issue will be in demand very soon if the rumors persist. At the moment, you can have anything from a 5.0 and below for under $100, but that won’t be the case in the near future. The graded 7.5 sold for $225 last month, marking the first time it had cracked $200. If that’s any indication, all grades for Tomb #1 will be hot properties in 2020.

THE FUTURE

Considering Moon Knight debuted in the pages of Werewolf by Night, it would make sense for audiences to see werewolves and vampires in his Disney+ show. Given these rumors, it would appear that Marvel Studios is looking to tie Moon Knight directly to the Blade reboot. When we put all the clues together, it serves as further evidence that Marvel is looking to incorporate more horror characters into the MCU going forward. If Moon Knight and Blade are successes, it could lay the groundwork for even more stories from the genre. Who knows? Maybe we could finally see all those Man-Thing Easter eggs come to fruition.
