BETHPAGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--If Dr. Bruce Banner gets a bad night's sleep, he'll get angry... and you know what happens next. Luckily, a starred-and-striped hero in nightshirt and cap-the whimsical mascot of Sleepy's, The Mattress Professionals-is there to calm the bad-tempered Hulk with a super-comfortable mattress. That's how the artists of famed Marvel Comics tell it in a comic book produced exclusively for Sleepy's. The comic, available at nearly 700 Sleepy's stores across the Northeast, is a result of a partnership that began with this summer's blockbuster hit The Incredible Hulk.

Sleepy's is donating one hundred percent of the proceeds from comic sales to the American Cancer Society (ACS).

What is a family-owned mattress company doing partnering up with a Universal Studios motion picture starring the likes of Ed Norton, Liv Tyler, and Tim Roth? The two may seem unlikely bedfellows, but the campaign makes sense. Tossing and turning all night on an uncomfortable mattress causes pain, anger, and frustration, the kind even the Bruce Banners of the world have trouble overcoming.

"We are excited to partner with Universal Studios and Marvel Entertainment on this new charitable project," says Adina Smith, vice president of advertising and brand management for Sleepy's. "Sleepy's is a supporter of the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks, and we expect the buzz around the Hulk DVD release on October 21st will help raise even more money for ACS."

Sleepy's vendors-Comfort Solutions, Kingsdown, Miralux, and Simmons-contributed their own superhero stylized advertisements to the comic book, to help make this charitable endeavor possible.

The comic book stories feature The Hulk. Also, leaping off the pages of retail ads into his first ever superhero appearance is the Sleepy's man himself, battling evil alongside The Incredible Hulk in the name of providing a great night's sleep. Another popular Marvel superhero, Iron Man, also makes an appearance.
