Toronto, Ontario (August 15, 2007) - Septagon Studios, Inc. has hired Preston Park Cooper, Co-writer/creator of Dabel Brothers Productions' and Marvel Comics' Half Dead graphic novel, to head its publishing division as Editor-in-Chief, effective August 15, 2007. With the notable success of its debut project Scorn, Septagon Studios has been growing rapidly. Septagon looks forward to Cooper's guidance in regard to reaching its goals and ambitions.

"When Septagon Studios first started, I liked the sound of it and its stated goals," says Cooper. "When they advertised for an editor, I remembered them, and wrote to them, interested in joining their ranks. As part of their consideration process, I was asked why I was interested in the job. I simply stated that a comics company today must have both a creative vision and a business vision, and that while many new companies fail because they only have one or the other, I felt that Septagon seemed to recognize the importance of both. As Editor-in-Chief, I can now help advise the company and its projects in the most appropriate ways to attain their admirable goals of fostering creativity for the benefit of both readers and creators."

Septagon Studios, Inc. President Nicola Defina said, "I'm thrilled that Park can be a part of this great adventure here at Septagon Studios. I want the best for Septagon in establishing a great direction with limitless opportunities for creators to provide unique projects to fans and retailers alike. I believe we have just added a great professional to help take Septagon Studios to the next level in comics. I can't wait for people to see some of the projects we've got planned for 2008!"

In 2003, Cooper started the creative studio Wicker Man Studios (www.wickermanstudios.com) with his wife Barbara Lien-Cooper. In addition to co-writing and co-creating Half Dead, he edits projects for indie small press publisher Silent Devil Productions, edited the mini-series Athena Voltaire: Flight of the Falcon for Ape Entertainment, and produces, with his wife, a column for website www.silverbulletcomicbooks.com entitled The Park and Barb Show, about the industries of comics, manga, and popular culture. An educator and writer, Cooper received his Ph.D. in Literature from Kent State in 2006.

Septagon Studios Inc. is a publishing company founded in early 2003 by company president and CEO Nicola Defina with his two cousins, Philip Defina (Vice President and Art Director) and Domenic Defina (Art Consultant). Septagon has carefully positioned itself to occupy a historic place in the industry, and combining comic book publishing with creator services is just the start.

Actively seeking creator submissions, Septagon has developed the ability to handle all aspects of comics publication, including marketing, advertising, printing, and international distribution. Many publishers feel that they can't go outside their "niche." However, Septagon's goal is to deliver entertainment to every reader, by embracing the diversity of fare available within the contemporary pool of cutting-edge creators. Septagon is strictly concerned with creator-owned projects, allowing vision and originality in a range of titles and genres. While some comic book readers have an encyclopedic knowledge of the medium's history, that's no longer true of every reader. Septagon vows to produce work that will please readers of both types. The critical acclaim for Septagon's debut title SCORN simply helps to show how the company has started living up to its creed, working hard to be: "For readers. For creators. For everyone."
