September 4, 2007 - International Enterprise continues to offer a diverse and ever-expanding collection of the best independent comics and graphic novels available today with their latest property, SCORN. Strong emotions of anger and disgust come together in Michael Riggs vicious and bloody rampage of vigilante justice, after he witnesses the murder of his best friend at the hand of a notorious gang leader. Suddenly, 19-year-old Michael finds a purpose in his life, an obsession for justice in his native Chicago, and nothing can stop him.

A four issue mini-series illustrated in striking, toned artwork by Philipp Neundorf, SCORN is written by Kevin Moyers and published by Septagon Studios. Issues #1 and #2 are currently available, with the first issue already drawing strong reviews online from such distinguished sites as Ain't It Cool News and comic peers such as Brian Holguin (see below). The series is scheduled to conclude by early 2008, and plans are already in the works for a trade paperback collection with supplemental material, along with the possibility of further Scorn stories. Seeing more of Scorn in the future will come as no surprise, given the attention the first issue is already receiving:

"This is a heartfelt and painful little tale of redemption as one man seeks revenge for the death of a friend, but the thing that makes this book stand out from others is the artwork. Reminiscent of Ashley Wood and Ben Templesmith, those of you who like clean and clear images may want to stay away, but those like me who like moody, imaginative, and painterly styles will want to seek this one out

From Industry Professionals:

"Scorn #1 offers an evocative twist on the traditional revenge tale. While the story appears straight-forward -- young man seeks to avenge the death of a loved one -- in its the execution, Scorn is anything but cliched. The art is wistful and surreal yet, at the same time, primal and urgent. You taste the blood in your mouth as you feel the earth disappear from beneath your feet. It washes over you like a troubled, sepia-colored dream. A very promising debut."

- Brian Holguin (Writer of Image Comics Spawn Godslayer)

"A violent revenge tale illustrated with emotive sepia-toned expressionist art, the likes of which are rarely seen in comics nowadays. Neundorf's fine art techniques and understanding of dynamic comic book storytelling are employed here with beautiful results as he skillfully extracts the tone, spirit, and intent of the story and burns it straight onto the page. Not content with merely recreating sequential TV-style images on paper, Neundorf combines subtle abstract patterns with noirish angles to heavily coat the script in a gritty, chaotic atmosphere; a territory somewhere between Templesmith, McKean, and J. O'Barr. This is how the comic book format should be utilized more often. This kind of ingenuity is what a cutting edge medium like comics should be all about."
